Abstract

1,198,442. Valves. C. W. DAVIS. 28 July, 1967 [29 July, 1966], No. 34067/66. Heading F2V. [Also in Division F1] A valve has an inlet 2 for connection to a compressor, an outlet 6 for connection to a receiver and a relief valve member 14 which is fast on a stem 11 and is normally held on a seat 15 by an adjustable loading spring 16. The end of the stern 11 abuts a valve plate 22 to normally hold the valve plate away from its seat 23 but if during operation of the compressor the pressure in. chamber ] 9 rises above a predetermined value the valve 14 will open to relieve the pressure and unload the compressor. Simul-. taneously the valve plate 22 will seat and the pressure in the receiver will hold it seated until the receiver pressure drops, on use thereof, when the two valves will revert to their normal positions.
