Abstract
1,189,583. Agricultural implements. E. P. LATHUY. 24 May, 1968 [1 June, 1967], No. 25009/68. Heading A1B. [Also in Division H1] A detector for plants comprises a sensing lever 14 actuating, on contact with a plant 15, a rotatable shaft 4 and hence a magnetic switch for operation of a plant handling device. The switch comprises a magnet 6 fixed to the shaft 4 and so aligned in the reference position shown that its neutral plane contains the elements 21, 22 of a magnetic reed contact unit 20 which become magnetized as the said neutral plane rotates and close the circuit to the plant handling device. Spring return means 17 are provided and in addition the stop 19 constitutes the core of an electromagnet 33 for applying a return force, variable through rheostat 34, on the movable stays 18.
