Abstract

[Also in Division G3] A fluid flow regulator comprises a flexible impervious sleeve 3 anchored to the inside of duct 1 and 2, and secured at its other end to a box 5 which is apertured at 6 and which is urged to the right by a spring 11. Under light flow conditions this spring holds the sleeve taught so that it presents minimum resistance to flow, but as the pressure increases, the sleeve buckles to the flow restricting shape shown. A knob 10 is provided to screw shaft 7 in and out of threaded bush 8 to pre-tension the spring. The sleeve is lined with sound insulating material 4.
