Abstract

Valves controlled by pilot or relay valves.-Relates to a fluid-pressure operated valve system in which an auxiliary or balancing valve co-axial with, and seating on, the main valve is opened by the fluid-pressure operating-elements of, and prior to the opening of, the main valve, and consists mainly in applying this arrangement to a valve as described in Specification 24559/09, wherein the main value f is arranged inside a pipe enlargement c of stream-line form having a stream-line deflecting-body d therein. The operating-piston h is disposed within the deflecting-body d and is rigidly connected to the balancing-valve g<1>. The main valve f is raised after the balancing-valve g<1> when the piston reaches the collar f<2> on the main valve spindle f<1>. The seating s is removably clamped between the body c and a pipe section t, so that when the seat is removed, the valve can be withdrawn. The section t forms part of a length-adjusting section t, u secured by bolts v. The position of the valve is indicated by an external pointer o on a spindle n connected by a crank and link q, r to the main valve.
