Abstract

1,033,721. Mattresses; divan beds. DUNLOP RUBBER CO. Ltd. April 11, 1963 [May 1, 1962], No. 16559/62. Addition to 770,962. Headings A4J and A4M. A bed base comprises a non-folding main frame including a pair of side members 1 and a pair of end members 2, a flat bottom panel 4 fixed to the side and end members of the main frame at an intermediate level of those members, and a resilient mattresssupporting filling 5 of substantially uniform overall thickness comprising one or more pieces of resilient cellular material supported by the bottom panel. Transverse bearers fixed to the main frame member immediately beneath the bottom panel give an additional support to the latter. A sheet 6 of resilient cellular material is attached over the filling 5 and extends down the outer faces of the members 1, 2 of the frame.
