Abstract
1,018,412. Welding by fusion. V. D. VOZNESENSKY and R. I. ZAXON. June 12, 1964 [May 31, 1963], No. 21956/63. Headings B3A, B3Q, B3R and B3V. A method of depositing on to a metal article 1 metal from a bar 3 comprises pressing the bar against the article so as to impress the article against a die 2, and simultaneously rotating or oscillating the bar in order to generate heat for depositing the metal. Non-ferrous metal may be deposited on electrical components, or corrosion-resistant metal on chemical plant. As shown, tapering knife segments of steel for mowing and harvesting machines are surfaces with a cobalt.chromium alloy 3 and simultaneously pressed into corrugated form against the die 2. The knife is mounted on a carriage 7 traversed, through a rack-and-pinion gear, by an electromotor.
