Abstract

A knitted textile piece is produced as a flat bar knitting machine with double needle beds and adjustable stitch sinkers, the piece having >=1 region of jersey knit and 1 region of edge knit. The jersey knit region is produced with the stitch sinkers at one level and the edge knit region is produced with the stitch sinkers at another lever, the whole operation being carried out during one knitting cycle. Two types of stitches can be knitted during the same operation so that the knitted piece requires practically no finishing off around the edges.
