Abstract

The elastic seal (1) is cylindrical, with an inward cylindrical ridge and an outward trapezoidal ridge at its midpoint, and three trapezoidal ridges, both internal and external, towards both extremities. This seal is placed over the tubes (31, 32) so that they butt onto each side of the inward midpoint ridge. Semi-cylindrical clamps (2) pivoted at one side and clamped at the other, fit over the seal to make the joint. Protuberances on the inside diameter of the clamps give a location on the inside of the inner of the three trapezoidal ridges. The clamps are tightened using a nut and bolt.
