Abstract

A road vehicle suspension comprises a swing- ng arm 2 supporting the wheel 1 and having a shaft 3 supported by bearings 56 carried by an annulus 55 rigid with a plate 53, to which and to a plate 54 is bonded a resilient block 52, the plate 55 on each side of the mounting being secured to longitudinal members 50 and 51 of the vehicle chassis. A resilient ring 57 is provided on a flange of the plate 55. In a . modification, Fig. 3, the shaft 3 is supported in bearings 64 carried by a flanged hub 63, the flange 62 of which is bonded to resilient annuli 60 and 61 bonded to plates 65 and 66 carried by the longitudinal support members 50 and 51. The plates 65 carry flanged members 68 provided with resilient rings 69. In another modification, Fig. 5, the shaft 3 is bonded to resilient annuli 70 carried by plates 71 and 72 and having a weakened section, oscillation of the arms 2 being permitted by torsional strain in the member 70.
