Abstract

614,836. Machinery beds. METALASTIK, Ltd., HIRST, A. J:, and CHAMBERS, R. N. Aug. 3, 1946, No. 23193. [Class 80 (iv)] [Also in Group XXXII] A resilient antivibration mounting for supporting engines, motors and the like, comprises two concentrically disposed metal cones 1, 2 bonded together by rubber blocks 3, or an annulus of rubber, having openings 9 at two diametrically opposite places, cone 1 supporting the power unit through members 14, 15, 16, the latter being secured thereto, and cone 2 being secured to the support through members 7, 20, 22, 19. Cone 1 has cylindrical extensions 4, 6 for receiving coaxial locating blocks 14, 18 between which it is clamped on a mounting bolt 15. Extra resilient buffers 21 may be bonded to opposite faces of a carrying member 22. The lower end of the bolt 15 carries a screw-threaded pressure plate 23, to damp excessive axial displacement of the inner cone 1.
