Description

The invention relates to a device for discharging water, also called a dump assembly, especially for sanitary appliances, for example a drain for a bin shower tray. The invention also applies to emptying sinks, floor siphons, drains roof rain water, etc.

Shower trays as designed up to these last years were planned to receive a height relatively large amounts of water. The problem of low flow evacuation devices was secondary in the measure where a relatively large amount of water could accumulate in the enclosure of the shower tray.

The only problems encountered with the receptor bins rather were due to fouling of the bumps resulting in large part from restrictions by the water passage sections to be evacuated, at cleaning the vertical walls of said receiving tanks and difficulty of access for the shower user resulting from the important step constituted by its walls vertical.

The appearance of extra-flat trays more aesthetic, but also easier to step over and cleaning, however, should change the perception of water drainage devices since with the necessity to maintain permanently during use a very low water height, it was necessary to create a device space-saving evacuation in its height, easy to be cleaned to avoid any risk of blockage and ensuring greatly increased throughput compared to devices drainage system.

For example, the European patent EP-A-0503232 (Viegener) describes a high-flow shower drain which, thanks to a slope integrated in the body of the drain, avoids any residual water stagnating in the bottom the bung body, but with the exception of course of a minimum guard imposed by the siphon effect.

According to this technique, water spills all around the circular wall of a box to reach a room or drainage channel whose sloped flat bottom collects the waters and guides them on each side of the case to a evacuation pipe or pipe.

This known shower drain is composed of a housing or housing provided with a supply opening, a tubing outlet, a mounting flange and a dip tube inserted in the housing, delimiting the intake opening, the housing further having a surrounding drainage channel the housing. The drainage channel has a flat bottom tilted from a high point to an opposite low point of so that said discharge channel guides, in two flows separate, the water flowing all around the casing towards the discharge pipe.

These two water flows generated by the drainage channel therefore flow on either side of the casing from a high point of the channel diametrically opposite a low point of said discharge channel where it is connected to the discharge pipe.

Although the inclined slope of the drainage channel allows accelerated water flow, the design of the drainage channel is such that it creates two channels separate outlets towards the tubing which disrupts the entry of water into this exhaust manifold and causes a reduction in water flow speed and therefore flow evacuation, the two generated flows tending to telescope and cause a loss of turbulence charge.

In European patent EP-B-0365789, a plug is described shower of substantially identical structure and having in particular a drainage channel whose bottom has an inclined slope from a high point of the canal evacuation to a low point of said channel diametrically opposite the high point. This drainage channel therefore has two arms for guiding the water flow extending on either side of the housing from this high point of the canal evacuation towards the bottom point of said channel where these two arms open into an evacuation pipe.

In the German utility model DE-U-9407255, there is described also a water drainage device comprising a annular drainage channel surrounding the casing and the bottom is inclined from a high point of the channel towards a low point of said diametrically opposite channel and emerging in a drainage pipe, said channel in fact defining two evacuation channels.

Such crowds therefore have drawbacks identical to those previously mentioned.

The main object of the present invention is to overcome these disadvantages and to propose a device for evacuating water or drain assembly, in particular for apparatus in which an accelerated flow of water as a single stream flowing in a canal to an evacuation pipe.

To this end, the invention relates to a device water evacuation, also called emptying assembly, consisting of a central cup into which opens a water inlet opening covered with a hood, a removable dip tube inserted in the central cup, an evacuation pipe or tubing as well as a drainage channel communicating with the central cup and surrounding the latter, said discharge channel opening at level of the discharge pipe, characterized in that said drainage channel is unique and has a shape helical descending around the central cup from a high point to a low point of communication with the discharge pipe, said top and bottom points being substantially aligned in a vertical.

Advantageously, the inclination of the channel, in particular from the bottom of said channel, is continuous all along of said discharge channel from a high point to a low point, thus defining a single drainage channel inclined surrounding the central cup generating a flow single and not a drainage channel divided in two inclined channels on either side of the central cup as this was the case in the prior art.

In this way, the water collected in the cup central projecting above the vertical wall of said cup fall into the drain where they are channeled into a single flow and accelerated by rotation effect due to the helically shaped channel and this, up to the outlet of the evacuation channel opening into the evacuation pipe or pipe.

The drainage channel which is attached all around the cup, constitutes with the latter a one-piece housing forming body of the evacuation device or set of emptying. This channel is composed of a bottom or lower part comprising the external part of the vertical wall of the cup and an internal part in an arc open towards the top forming a wall from the cup, as well as a upper part including the internal arcuate part circle facing down from the underside of a cover mounted on the housing and the upper end of the wall vertical of the cup.

Preferably, the bottom of the central cup consists a cone connected to the vertical peripheral wall of said beaker by a segment in an arc open towards the high.

Thanks to this arrangement, the flow of water entering the emptying assembly through the inlet opening and falling to inside the dip tube in a vertical movement of fall abuts against the conical bottom of the central cup then undergoes a 180 ° rotation between the outer wall of the dip tube and the inner wall of the cup. The goblet once filled, the water overflows above the wall vertical of said cup in the single discharge channel to follow a downward helical movement printed at flow through the channel.

According to a feature of the invention, the vertical wall of the cup is cylindrical so that most of the overflowing water arrives in the drainage channel of helical shape and not directly in the orifice outlet connected to the evacuation pipe. Preferably, the water outlet orifice attached to the tubing is arranged eccentrically, namely in the extension of the lower part of the canal helical evacuation.

However, in order to avoid any direct descent very point water, it is possible, within the limit of guard imposed by the siphon, to vary the height of the vertical wall of the trunk-shaped cup of cone for example so as to favor the overflow of water in the upper part of the drainage channel helical.

According to yet another feature of the invention, the waters flowing into the upper part of the canal outside, are forced towards the helical path descending by a vertical partition forming abutment upper of said helical-shaped discharge channel to favor the direction of water flow in order to avoid any turbulence in communication with the discharge pipe and force the single flow to migrate in the direction of flow of the channel to undergo the desired acceleration.

An evacuation device according to the invention provides a greatly increased throughput compared to devices drainage of existing water due to its canal single helical evacuation accelerator flow, said discharge channel having for a low space requirement in its height a flow length larger effective allowing better speed acceleration.

Other features and advantages of this invention will emerge from the description given below in reference to the accompanying drawings which illustrate an example of realization without any limiting character.

On remarque que ledit orifice de sortie des eaux rattaché à la tubulure ou canalisation 4 est disposé de manière excentrée, à savoir dans le prolongement de la partie basse du canal d'évacuation de forme hélicoïdale 3.Referring to Figure 1, we see that the device of water evacuation or set of emptying of water, in particular for sanitary appliances, is in the this example a shower drain for a tray extra-flat and has a one-piece housing 1 made of plastic, preferably polypropylene, forming body of the device and comprising a central cup 2 around which a canal is attached externally discharge 3 which has a helical shape leading to a water outlet orifice attached to a evacuation pipe or tubing 4. Note that said water outlet orifice attached to the tubing or line 4 is arranged eccentrically, namely in the extension of the lower part of the canal helical evacuation 3.

The drain has a feed opening defined by interstices 8 formed between an opening cover 9 of the drain and a tray 10 carried by the housing 1, the tray 10 allowing fixing in a shower tray. The plug is fixed around the opening in the bottom of the tank tray 15 using the plate 10 screwable onto a cover 7 mounted on the housing 1. The cover 7 covers the evacuation channel 3 and at least part of the cup central 2 while providing an orifice above said cup 2, the tray preferably screwing onto the outer part (orifice side) of said cover 7, The seal at the orifice of the tank 15 between these different parts are then secured by a seal multifunction 16 as described in the patent application French n ° 2736951. This seal 16 which encloses by its lip upper and lower the orifice of the receiver tray 15 and the outer upper part of the cover 7, is then compressed by tightening the plate 10. The device according to the invention can be tightly fixed in the same way way around the hole in the bottom of everything other receptacle such as a sink, floor, roof in the case of device for the evacuation of rainwater roofs, etc.

The drainage channel 3 is composed of a lower part 3 'comprising the external part of the vertical wall 5 of the cup 2 and the internal part in an open 6 'arc upwards forming a wall 6 from cup 2, as well as a 3 '' upper part including the internal part 7 '' circular arc open towards the bottom of the underside of the cover 7 and the upper end of the vertical wall 5 of cup 2.

The lower part 3 ′ of the evacuation channel 3 is inclined all around the central cup 2 from a point high to a low point where said discharge channel 3 communicates with the discharge pipe 4, the high point and the low point of said discharge channel 3 being substantially aligned in a vertical so that the discharge channel 3 has a helical shape.

The entry of the water flow inside the whole of emptying is done through the gaps 8 formed between the cover 9 and the plate 10. The flow falls inside the tube plunger 11 which is composed of a sort of filter basket, removable thanks to a central gripping device, arranged against the internal vertical walls of the tray 10.

At the end of the dip tube 11, the flow abuts against the conical bottom 12 of the cup 2 then undergoes a 180 ° rotation thanks to a circular arc segment 13 open upwards, formed between said conical bottom 12 and the vertical wall 5 of the cup 2. The flow thus deflected goes up between the external wall of the dip tube 11 and the inner face of the vertical wall 5 of the cup 2. This last, when filled, the waters overflow above the vertical wall 5 of said cup 2 and fall into the drainage channel 3 of peripheral helical shape for follow a descending accelerator movement towards the orifice outlet of the water from the drain channel 3 communicating with the discharge pipe 4.

There are shown by arrows in Figures 1 and 3, the circuit followed by the unique flow of water and the effect of rotation driven around the cup 2 by the channel evacuation 3 unique helical shape.

Ainsi, la pente du fond dudit canal 3 s'incline depuis cette partie haute jusqu'à la partie basse de manière continue et définie autour du gobelet central un canal d'évacuation 3 unique de forme hélicoïdale, définissant un flux unique de cheminement hélicoïdal.FIG. 3 which represents the only lower part 3 ′ of the bung body shows the entire channel location helical 3 as well as the vertical partition 14 forming superior about it and promoting meaning flow in said channel 3. As it appears clearly in Figure 3, the highest part of the channel 3 is substantially aligned in a vertical with the lowest part of said channel 3 at the periphery of the central cup 2. Thus, the slope of the bottom of said channel 3 tilts from this upper part to the lower part continuously and defined around the central cup a single evacuation channel 3 of helical shape, defining a single flow of helical path.

The whole as well constituted can be arranged on the evacuation pipe at a variable angle of 30 ° which greatly contributes the ease of implementation of the drain between the tank receiver 15 and said discharge pipe 4.

In order to demonstrate the hydraulic characteristics of the bung according to the invention, we compared as a function of time, the variation of the heights of water in a tank of shower receiving different water flows. Figure 4 presents the measurements taken in a tank provided with a traditional drain, while Figure 5 uses a plug according to the invention.

It follows that the plug according to the invention does not only allows much more water flows important than with the bursts of the prior art but maintains the required low water level with the extra-flat trays. It also goes without saying that the increased speed of water evacuation avoids frequent fouling of the system as seen in many cases with the bursts of the prior art.

Of course, this invention is not limited to the embodiment described and shown here but that it encompasses all variants. This is how for example that we can consider that the outlet water from the drain is provided in part bottom of the drainage channel in a central passing plane by the axis of the plate.
