Abstract

In order to equip an auxiliary or signal switch (which is structurally combined with the line protection circuit breaker or residual current device and is coupled to the same for operation and release) with a switching mechanism which can be influenced indirectly thereby, said switching mechanism is based on a switching lever (1) which latches over a knuckle joint on the operating side within the built-on housing (4) having the same contour, acts on the rocker contact arrangements (2, 2') and can be unlatched by an unlatching lever (8) which is operated from the side of the protective switching device, it being possible to select the auxiliary function or signal function of the built-on switch using its manually adjustable deflection with respect to the switching lever (1). <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to an add-on switch according to the preamble of patent claim 1.

In this regard, an attachment switch is known from DE 33 04 081 C2, which has no manually operated switching mechanism and whose spring-loaded rocker contact arrangement is actuated mechanically in direct coupling on the part of the protective switching device.

Furthermore, DE 31 19 165 C2 describes a unit consisting of a circuit breaker and auxiliary and signal switches, in which the relevant contact arrangements are actuated in conjunction with the circuit breaker by means of a separate switching mechanism which is to be actuated manually and is coupled in terms of triggering.

In these add-on switches, the actuation of the auxiliary and signal contacts is mechanically linked to that of the main contact arrangement of the protective switching device. As a result, this fixed coupling can impair the unconditional safety function of a protective switching device in the event of faults in the area of the add-on switch. Likewise, the coupling on the contact side of the two devices prevents the add-on switch from taking the reset position of the protective switching device after a fault has been triggered.

In view of this, the invention has for its object the attachment switch for actuating its contact arrangements to be provided with a switching mechanism indirectly driven by the protective switching device. At the same time there should be the possibility to choose between auxiliary and signal function of the add-on switch.

According to the invention, this object is achieved by the features mentioned in claim 1.

Expedient refinements and advantageous developments of the switching mechanism according to the invention are specified in subclaims 2 to 6. The claims 2 to 4 are directed to the objective and functional design of the shift lever and the unlatching lever, as well as the changeover device bound to the latter. Furthermore, claims 5 to 6 in the area of the operating handle of the attachment switch include the spring element in its multiple function, the test lever attached to it for function control and its coupling possibility with the handle of the protective switching device.

As can be seen from the representation in Fig. 1 of the drawing, which is superordinate to the other figures, the extension switch, which is intended for operation and triggering, is coupled with a circuit breaker here below the drawing level and is based on the function selected as auxiliary switch on the cruciform lever as a result of the previous setting of its deflection 1 in effect on the rocker contact arrangements 2 and 2 'provided on both sides in the connection area of the device. Here, the two-armed actuating element of this shift lever 1 is supported by one arm via the return spring 3 on the switch housing 4, while the other arm, which extends upwards, is provided with a T-shaped protruding and flanking one-sided sliding edge to form a toggle lever spring mechanism , which has a locking lug 5 for the tangent latching bracket 7 which is rotatably mounted on the spring-loaded operating handle 6.

In order to cancel the locking between the switching lever 1 and the latching bracket 7 that occurred when the device was switched on in the course of a tripping of the attached circuit breaker caused by a short circuit or overload can, on the side of the attachment switch, the triangular release lever 8 is provided, from the housing-side bearing near the operating handle 6 the passive leg at its end with the coupling pin 9 extends through the housing walls into the switching mechanism of the circuit breaker and the active leg end through the aforementioned latching point Reaching behind the train. The unlatching lever 8 is held variable with regard to its deflection in the course of the switching-on process by the leg spring 10 arranged on the axis of rotation of the operating handle 6 by means of a central rotating part 11 in the switch housing 4, in order to be supported by a special guide leg 12 in cooperation with the above-mentioned angling on the sliding flank the switching lever 1 for the rocker contact arrangements 2 and 2 ' to open the switchover from the auxiliary to the signal function.

In this regard, the protective switching device controls the contact arrangements of its attachment switch in an auxiliary function according to an actuation of the main contact or contacts, while in the signal function only a possible fault in the form of a short-circuit, overload or fault current trip is indicated on the part of the protective switching device. For both types of function, by actuating the operating handle 6 - and in mechanical coupling with the protective switching device - the pressure spring-loaded switching lever 1 is moved in the effect on the rocker contact arrangements 2 and 2 'of the add-on switch in the stable switch-on position. At the same time, the unlatching lever 8, which is coupled to the triggering mechanism of the protective switching device across the housing, moves up to the stop provided in the housing 4, which is defined by the rotating part 11, and thereby engages a release in preparation for the latching point 1/7 formed. If both devices are switched off manually, this process is reversed kinematically.

If the protective switching device triggers an error, the triggering mechanism there moves upwards in the switching mechanism and, on the side of the attachment switch, takes the coupling pin 9 attached to the unlatching lever 8 upwards or against the pressure of the leg spring 10 on the handling side into the switched-off position. The pull leg of the unlatching lever 8 removes the support of the latching bracket 7 of the operating handle 6 on the latching lug 5 of the switching lever 1, which then moves back together with the rocker contact arrangements 2 and 2 'under the action of the return spring 3 against a housing stop into the switched-off position. In the course of this, the spring-loaded latching bracket 7 catches loosely before the sliding flank of the switching lever 1 is angled, and in this way enables the operating handle 6, together with that of the protective switching device, to assume the reset position specified by the latter. On the side of the switching mechanism of the add-on switch, it is only possible to switch on again after the previous switch-off operation.

For the function of the add-on switch as a signal switch to indicate a fault triggering on the part of the protective switching devices: only the degree of deflection for the spring-loaded release lever 8 changes in relation to the switching lever 1 in its switching mechanism. This is done from the outside by manually adjusting the central rotating part 11 Stop cam from the position to limit the deflection of the unlatching lever 8 in such a way to expand it. Accordingly, the guide leg 12, which is specially molded onto the unlatching lever 8, now comes into the blocking region of the sliding flank angled portion of the switching lever 1, which, when the unlatching lever 8 is switched off manually, is supported on the switching lever 1 and prevents the actuation of the rocker contact arrangements 2 and 2 ', the operating handle 6 - together with that of the protective switching device - swings back into the switch-off position. Then the shift lever 1 of the Extension switch this position only by switching both devices on again.

For the process of checking the correct function of the auxiliary and signal switch, it is advisable to uncouple the operating handles of both devices in the switch-on position. Then causes in the housing opening of the extension switch next to the operating handle 6 and pressed against the underlying arm of the test lever 13 tool that its other lever arm adjusts the coupling pin 9 of the release lever 8 upwards and triggers the switching mechanism of the attachment switch in the manner described above. For this purpose, the end of the test lever 13 to be actuated can elastically overlap an internal housing attachment. This measure has the effect that the test lever 13, once actuated, cannot return to its starting position by itself, but must be reset by a cam (not shown) on the operating handle 6 actuated for this purpose.
