Abstract

Self-adhesive label with a suspension loop (1) which is fastened to its adhesive-free surface and made of a flexible film and of which a first region (1A) is firmly connected to the label (2) and a second region (1B) lies loosely upon the label (2). That surface of the suspension loop (1) which is turned towards the label (2) has a continuous adhesive layer which, in the second region (1B), is covered by a non-adhesive layer. As a result, manufacturing is simplified and the mechanical loadability of the suspension loop is increased. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a self-adhesive label with a hanging flap attached to its adhesive-free surface and consisting of a flexible film, of which a first area is firmly connected to the label and a second area lies loosely on the label.

A self-adhesive label of this type is known from the documents of the German utility model G 87 05 092.7. Objects, in particular pharmaceutical bottles, can be automatically labeled with the known self-adhesive label. That is, the carrier film covered with the labels is pulled over a dispensing lip, the labels rising with their leading edge, gripped by a rolling mill and pressed onto an object, such as a medicine ampoule. With the known self-adhesive label, objects such as pharmaceutical ampoules can therefore be labeled in an automatic process as well as provided with a hanging tab.

In the known label, the hanging tab is connected to the label by partial welding. However, this technique is only applicable to certain materials, namely weldable materials. As a result of the welding process, label production is comparatively complex and expensive.

From US-A-4 727 667 a self-adhesive label is known which is partially printed on its rear side coated with adhesive with a non-adhesive material in order to reduce the adhesive force at the printed areas.

The invention has for its object the self-adhesive mentioned above To improve the label so that it is quick and therefore inexpensive to manufacture, can also be made from non-weldable materials and at the same time has a greater load capacity of the hanging tab.

This object is achieved in that the surface of the hanging tab facing the label has a continuous adhesive layer which is covered in the second region by a non-adhesive layer and in that the second region has the shape of a bracket which can be lifted off the label.

It has surprisingly been found that the use of the adhesive layer in the first area and the resultant adhesion between the first area of the hanging tab and the label can produce a secure connection, in particular if an adhesive is used which is particularly resistant to Has shear forces. The label according to the invention can therefore also be used for larger and thus heavier pharmaceutical bottles without the risk that the hanging tab could tear out. There is practically no restriction on the use of materials. The use of polyester is particularly advantageous. Surprisingly, it has also been shown that label production is simplified, although a partially adhesive layer has to be produced. However, the fact that, according to the invention, the surface of the hanging tab facing the label has a continuous adhesive layer and is only covered in the second region by a non-adhesive layer, the self-adhesive label according to the invention is suitable for automatic production with comparatively little technical effort. The loosely lying area has the shape of a bracket that can be lifted off the label. This loose area serves as a kind of hanging loop.

The hanging tab is preferably made of transparent material. As a result, the appearance of the actual label is not adversely affected by the hanging tab, which is hardly noticeable, in particular when, according to a further advantageous embodiment, both the adhesive layer and the non-adhesive layer on the hanging tab are transparent. The transparency of the hanging tab also allows the possibility of applying these over a large area to the label in such a way that the label is largely covered. The legibility of the label on the label is preserved. The large arrangement of the hanging tab ensures a secure adhesive connection between the hanging tab and the label. The lifting of the free bow-shaped area is also facilitated if the hanging tab is as large as possible, that is to say largely covers the actual label.

The lifting off of the loosely lying area of the hanging tab is further facilitated in that it at least partially protrudes somewhat beyond the edge of the label. The loose area of the hanging tab can be easily gripped and lifted at the protruding point.

The lifting of the bow-shaped part of the suspension bracket is further facilitated in that an opening is provided in the suspension bracket between the first area and the second bracket-shaped area.

Figur 1:
ein Selbstklebeetikett auf einer Trägerfolie;
Figur 2:
das Selbstklebeetikett der Figur 1, angebracht auf einer Arzneiampulle;
Figur 3:
eine weitere Trägerfolie bestückt mit einer Aufhängelasche.
The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the exemplary embodiment shown schematically in FIGS. 1 to 3. It shows:
Figure 1:
a self-adhesive label on a carrier film;
Figure 2:
the self-adhesive label of Figure 1, attached to a drug ampoule;
Figure 3:
another carrier film equipped with a hanging tab.

A self-adhesive label 2 can be seen in FIG. 1, which temporarily adheres to the siliconized smooth layer of a carrier film 3. The label 2 bears a customary imprint, which is symbolically indicated in the drawing by the letters A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H. A hanging tab 1 is attached to the surface of the label 2. Both the label 2 and the hanging tab 1 are made of polyester. The The hanging flap 1, which largely covers the label, is transparent, so that the labeling on the label 2 underneath is easy to read through the hanging flap 1.

The hanging tab 1 consists of a bow-shaped part 1B (dotted in the drawing for the purpose of highlighting), which rests only loosely on the label and can be bent off by it. The hanging tab 1 also has a second area 1A, which is glued to the label 2, in order to ensure a secure hold between the hanging tab 1 and the label 2. The loosely resting bracket 1B of the label protrudes somewhat at the upper edge of the label so that it can be gripped there with ease. The gripping is facilitated in particular by the fact that the bow-shaped area 1B is separated from the glued area 1A by an opening 7 in the hanging tab. Since the hanging tab 1 consists of a flexible material layer, the label can be processed in the usual way, i.e. the carrier film 3 is pulled over a dispensing lip, so that the label 2, including its hanging tab 1, lifts off the carrier tape with its leading edge and can be gripped and processed by the known processing machines.

Figure 2 shows the label 2 attached to a medicament ampoule 4 available for infusion and for this reason on the head, i.e. with the outlet downwards. It can be seen that the bow-shaped area 1B of the hanging tab 1 is lifted off the label 2 and is bent along the dashed lines 5, which represent the boundary lines between the area 1A and the area 1B, so that the bow-shaped area 1B as a free hanger for the drug ampoule 4 is available.

The production of the self-adhesive label is explained below in FIG. 3. FIG. 3 shows a further carrier film 6 with a siliconized smooth layer, on which a hanging tab 1 temporarily adheres. Although only one hanging tab is shown, it goes without saying that on the band-shaped endless carrier film 6 in regular Intervals of such hanging tabs are arranged. This carrier film with the hanging tabs 1 is produced as follows: a polyester film coated with an adhesive with a particularly high shear resistance is laminated onto the adhesive-repellent carrier tape 6. Before the lamination, however, the carrier tape 6 is printed with a transparent, barely noticeable UV-curing printing ink at the points on which the area 1B of the hanging tab is located. The adhesive on the polyester film takes on the ink in the area 1B, whereby the adhesive effect in the area 1B is canceled. Then the polyester film is punched out, as in label production, so that it takes on the shape of the hanging tab 1 shown. With this punching, the carrier foil is not penetrated by the punching tools. In a second punching, the opening 7 is punched out from the side of the carrier film.

The hanging tab according to FIG. 3 can be glued onto any label 2 by the carrier film 6 in an automatic dispensing process. The pretreatment of the carrier film 6 described above ensures that the hanging tab 1 only sticks in the area 1A, but only lies loosely in the area 1B. Since the carrier film is also punched through to create the opening 7, the material can easily be removed from the opening 7 automatically (for example when winding up).

As described above, the method for producing the label has only the known steps of laminating, printing and punching out, which can be carried out automatically and at high speed. Complicated steps, such as welding, are not necessary.
