Definitions
- the invention relates to a base for toilet bowls and similar sanitary objects, consisting of a flat base strip made of an elastomer.
- the sanitary objects which in most cases consist of earthenware, must be securely fastened to the surface, for example a wall surface or floor surface formed by tiles. In most cases, this surface is not completely flat, so that when the sanitary objects are screwed on, high load peaks often arise, which can lead to the brittle material breaking out. In addition, there is a risk that the fastening will loosen if there is leverage if the tile edges protrude.
- a known pad of the type mentioned was created (DE-U-82 36 579), which has a flat edge strip made of an elastomer, which is arranged between the fastening edge of the sanitary object and the surface, for example the wall or floor surface.
- This strip of elastomer forms an elastic intermediate layer that prevents undesirable load peaks from occurring, even on uneven surfaces.
- the sanitary object can thus be securely attached without there being any risk of damage or that the attachment could come loose.
- the known base is designed as a one-piece molded part that is adapted to the shape of the fastening surface of the sanitary object. For this reason, a separate underlay must be made for each different size and shape of the attachment surface of the sanitary object and kept in stock. The effort required for this is considerable.
- the object of the invention is therefore to provide a base of the type mentioned above, which can be adapted to any shape and size of the fastening surface of the sanitary object and attached to it in a simple but well-fitting manner.
- this object is achieved in that the underlay which is straight in the undeformed state, starting from its one longitudinal edge, has transverse incisions which are arranged at regular intervals and taper inwards, and in that the underlay is provided on both sides with an adhesive tape which adheres on both sides.
- the support strip designed in this way can be curved as required to adapt to the shape of the fastening edge of the sanitary object.
- the underlay strip can be adapted in a very simple manner to all shapes and sizes of the fastening edges of the sanitary objects immediately before the attachment. It is therefore no longer necessary to produce and keep different documents for different sanitary objects.
- a single embodiment is suitable for all occurring applications.
- the cross cuts make it possible to bend the underlay strip in the shape desired. Nevertheless, a relatively large contact area remains with the attachment edge of the sanitary object, so that a secure attachment of the underlay strip is ensured.
- the adhesive tape folds up in the area of the transverse incisions.
- the washer is to be in the opposite direction, i.e. are curved towards the other, uninterrupted longitudinal edge, it is expedient to cut the adhesive tape in the area of the transverse cuts, so that the transverse cuts can widen unhindered.
- the backing strip shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 for toilet bowls and similar sanitary objects consists of an elastic, soft plastic, preferably ethylene vinyl acetate.
- the flat backing strip 1 has a continuous, uninterrupted longitudinal edge 2 and on the other side an interrupted longitudinal edge 3, from which there are arranged at regular intervals transverse incisions 4 which taper towards the longitudinal edge 2 and each end in an expanding, rounded recess 5.
- the remaining between each of the rounded recess 5 at the end of the transverse sipe 4 and the continuous longitudinal edge 2 of web 6 is narrower than 1/5 of the strip width.
- the backing strip 1 is provided on its upper side with an adhesive tape 7 of the same width, adhesive on both sides, on the upper side of which a removable cover strip 8 is attached.
- the cover strip 8 is removed and the underlay strip 1 is deformed in its plane, ie curved, that its uninterrupted longitudinal edge 2 adapts as closely as possible to the outer contour of the fastening edge 9.
- the adhesive tape 7 forms a small transverse fold 10 in the region of the transverse incision 4, which is indicated in FIG. 2 with dash-dotted lines. The adhesive tape 7 thus does not hinder the curvature.
- the adhesive tape 7 is cut in the area of the transverse incisions 4 so that the adhesive tape does not hinder the deformation of the backing strip. This cutting can take place in a particularly simple manner when the cover strip 8 is still on the adhesive tape 7. The cover strip 8 is then also cut.
- the backing strip As soon as the backing strip has been attached to the sanitary object in the manner described, it can be placed on the usually uneven surface, for example a tiled floor 11, and fastened there, as shown in FIG. 4.
- the backing strip is expediently produced and kept ready in individual strip sections of the same length; such a strip section is shown in FIG. 1.
- These strip sections are considerably shorter than the average circumference of a fastening edge 9 of a sanitary object. For each sanitary object, you therefore need several strip sections, of which only the last one attached is cut off to adjust the length.
- the handling of these relatively short strip sections is very simple; the tight abutting of adjacent strip sections is ensured by the fact that the individual strip sections are already glued to the tongue 9 with a relatively large area on each tongue, which is formed between adjacent transverse cuts.

Description
The invention relates to a base for toilet bowls and similar sanitary objects, consisting of a flat base strip made of an elastomer.
The sanitary objects, which in most cases consist of earthenware, must be securely fastened to the surface, for example a wall surface or floor surface formed by tiles. In most cases, this surface is not completely flat, so that when the sanitary objects are screwed on, high load peaks often arise, which can lead to the brittle material breaking out. In addition, there is a risk that the fastening will loosen if there is leverage if the tile edges protrude.
Therefore, a known pad of the type mentioned was created (DE-U-82 36 579), which has a flat edge strip made of an elastomer, which is arranged between the fastening edge of the sanitary object and the surface, for example the wall or floor surface. This strip of elastomer forms an elastic intermediate layer that prevents undesirable load peaks from occurring, even on uneven surfaces. The sanitary object can thus be securely attached without there being any risk of damage or that the attachment could come loose.
The known base is designed as a one-piece molded part that is adapted to the shape of the fastening surface of the sanitary object. For this reason, a separate underlay must be made for each different size and shape of the attachment surface of the sanitary object and kept in stock. The effort required for this is considerable.
In addition, an optimal adaptation of the underlay to the fastening surface of the sanitary object is not always guaranteed, especially if larger dimensional deviations of the sanitary objects occur due to manufacturing-related tolerances.
The object of the invention is therefore to provide a base of the type mentioned above, which can be adapted to any shape and size of the fastening surface of the sanitary object and attached to it in a simple but well-fitting manner.
According to the invention, this object is achieved in that the underlay which is straight in the undeformed state, starting from its one longitudinal edge, has transverse incisions which are arranged at regular intervals and taper inwards, and in that the underlay is provided on both sides with an adhesive tape which adheres on both sides.
The support strip designed in this way can be curved as required to adapt to the shape of the fastening edge of the sanitary object. As a result, the underlay strip can be adapted in a very simple manner to all shapes and sizes of the fastening edges of the sanitary objects immediately before the attachment. It is therefore no longer necessary to produce and keep different documents for different sanitary objects. A single embodiment is suitable for all occurring applications.
The cross cuts make it possible to bend the underlay strip in the shape desired. Nevertheless, a relatively large contact area remains with the attachment edge of the sanitary object, so that a secure attachment of the underlay strip is ensured.
If the backing strip is curved towards its interrupted longitudinal edge, the adhesive tape folds up in the area of the transverse incisions. However, if the washer is to be in the opposite direction, i.e. are curved towards the other, uninterrupted longitudinal edge, it is expedient to cut the adhesive tape in the area of the transverse cuts, so that the transverse cuts can widen unhindered.
Vorteilhafte Ausgestaltungen des Erfindungsgedankens sind Gegenstand von Unteransprüchen.Advantageous refinements of the inventive concept are the subject of dependent claims.
The invention is explained in more detail below using an exemplary embodiment which is illustrated in the drawing.
- 1 is a plan view of a straight support strip in the undeformed state,
- 2 shows an enlarged representation of a section of the backing strip according to FIG. 1,
- Fig. 3 attached the backing strip according to Fig. 1 in the curved state on a sanitary object only partially shown, and
- Fig. 4 is a partial vertical section through the foot of a toilet bowl, which stands on a support strip.
The backing strip shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 for toilet bowls and similar sanitary objects consists of an elastic, soft plastic, preferably ethylene vinyl acetate. The
As can be seen particularly clearly from FIG. 2, the
Before the
If the
If, on the other hand, an opposite curvature of the backing strip is required, the
As soon as the backing strip has been attached to the sanitary object in the manner described, it can be placed on the usually uneven surface, for example a
The backing strip is expediently produced and kept ready in individual strip sections of the same length; such a strip section is shown in FIG. 1. These strip sections are considerably shorter than the average circumference of a fastening
