In der Antriebstechnik werden kraftschlüssige Kupplungen an vielen Stellen zum Zu- oder Abschalten von Antrieben eingesetzt. Während bisher viele Kupplungen über Hebel und Gelenke manuell betätigt werden, wird immer häufiger auch nach fernbedienbaren Kupplungen gesucht. Dazu nutzt man entweder die bekannten, manuell zu betätigenden Kupplungen und führt die Betätigungskraft über zusätzliche Bauteile von einer Kraftquelle (Motor, Zylinder) zur Kupplung oder setzt elektromagnetisch schaltende Kupplungen ein, bei denen die die Kraft übertragenden Elemente magnetisiert werden und so einander direkt anziehen, solange Strom zugeführt wird.In drive technology, force-locking clutches are used in many places to switch drives on or off.
