Beim Pressen der fertigen Seidengewebe, behufs ihrer Glättung, verwendet man hohle Platten, in welche Dampf zur Erwärmung derselben eingelassen wird. Diese Platten wurden bisher in der Weise hergestellt, dafs zwei Bleche an ihrem äufseren Rande mit einem dazwischen gelegten Rahmen verschweifst und in der Mitte vernietet wurden.
