Description
Technical Field
The present invention relates to the field of communications, and in particular, to a method and an apparatus for indicating system message update.
Background
In a wireless cellular communication system, a system sends a system message to all terminals (User Equipment, UE for short) to save radio resources, the system message carries information that all UE configurations in a cell are completely the same, and all UEs obtain access information by receiving the system message to establish radio connection with a network.
In a third generation Long Term Evolution (LTE) System, a System message is divided into a Master Information Block (MIB) and a plurality of System Information Blocks (SIB), where the MIB contains the most important cell Information in the System and is sent through a Broadcast Channel (BCH); among the SIBs, the SIB1 is more specific and stores the scheduling Information of other SIBs, and the other SIBs are mapped into System Information (SI), where the scheduling periods of the SIBs mapped to the same SI are the same, and the scheduling of the SIB2 must be in the SI that is scheduled first. The SIB1 and other SIs are transmitted through an uplink-Shared Channel (DL-SCH).
The MIB has a fixed scheduling period: 40ms, and the first transmission of the MIB is transmitted on a subframe with a subframe Number #0 of a radio Frame with a System Frame Number (SFN) mod 4 ═ 0, and is repeatedly transmitted on other radio frames in the scheduling period. Like MIB, SIB1 also has a fixed scheduling period, but SIB1 has a scheduling period of 80ms, and its first transmission is transmitted in a subframe #5 of a radio frame with SFN mod 8-0, and SIB1 is repeatedly transmitted in its scheduling period in a radio frame with SFN mod 2-0.
The SI is sent by the time window dynamic scheduling of SI windows, each SI has a respective time window, and the time windows of different SIs are not overlapped with each other, wherein, the length w of the time window can be configured, and the length w of the time window is the same for all the SIs. On any subframe (except MBSFN subframe and #5 subframe of even Radio frame) in the corresponding SI window, the SI may be repeatedly transmitted for multiple times, and the UE may determine the positions of the SIB1 and the SI by monitoring a Radio Network Temporary Identity (SI-RNTI) on a Physical uplink Control Channel (PDCCH).
In Radio Resource Control (RRC), system messages are updated over a specific Radio frame. The concept of modification period is introduced here, and one modification period is at least larger than the maximum SI transmission period to ensure that SI can be transmitted one or more times within one modification period. If the system information needs to be updated, the base station firstly sends the system updating information to the UE, the system information needs to be updated through the UE, the system information is updated in the next modification period, the UE follows the same convention, when the system updating information is received, the current system information is set to valid, and when the next system information modification period is up, the new system information is read until all the system updating information is read.
Fig. 1 illustrates a system message update diagram of a 36.331 system in the related art, as shown in fig. 1, when a system message is changed, a base station sends a system message update indication or an updated system message to a terminal on a Broadcast Control Channel (BCCH), specifically, the base station sends the system message update indication to the terminal through a Paging message (Paging message) in a modification period (n), and then, in the modification period (n +1), the base station sends the updated system message to the terminal while the system message is active. This creates a problem: if the terminal is reading the BCH channel for downlink synchronization during the modification period (n), the terminal reading the BCH channel cannot read the paging message at the same time, that is, the terminal cannot read the paging message during the cell search, so that the terminal cannot read the system message update indication, and cannot read the updated system message, so that the terminal cannot complete the system message update of this time.

Detailed Description
Overview of the function
As shown in fig. 1, in the current system message update scheme, a base station only sends a system message update instruction to a terminal through a paging message in a modification period (n), if the terminal performs cell search during the modification period (n), that is, reads a Broadcast Channel (BCH) for downlink synchronization, then the terminal does not read the paging message and cannot acquire the system message update instruction, and when the base station sends an updated system message in a modification period (n +1), the terminal does not read the updated system message. Since it is not defined in the prior art whether the system message update indication is issued in the following paging message or how long the system message update indication should be sent, a terminal accessing the system during the modification period (n) will not read the updated system message within the modification period (n +1) period.
Based on this, the invention provides a scheme for indicating the update of the system message, after the base station sends the system message update indication to the terminal, the base station sends the system message update indication and the updated system message to the terminal at the same time in a preset time period, so that all the terminals can acquire the updated system message in the update process of the system message.
The embodiments and features of the embodiments in the present application may be combined with each other without conflict.
In order to facilitate understanding of the embodiments of the present invention, before describing the embodiments of the present invention, a Paging message (Paging message) in the prior art is first described.
At present, a base station mainly informs a UE of a change of a system message through a Paging message, where the Paging message has a field of systemlnfnformation, and after receiving a systemlnfnformation indication in the Paging, the UE in RRC _ IDLE and RRC _ CONNECTED knows that the system message will change, and reads an updated system message in a next system message modification period, and for a periodic change of the system message, it is not necessary to adopt the mechanism to inform the UE. The Paging message only informs the UE whether a system message has changed, but not which system message has changed, due to the limited capacity of the Paging message. The SIB1 has a value tag in the system message to indicate which SI has changed, and the UE may update the failed system message according to the value tag, and actively read a new system message when the system message has not been updated within 3 hours or the UE does not receive the updated system message.
Method embodiment
According to the embodiment of the invention, a method for indicating system message update is provided.
Fig. 2 is a flowchart of a system message update indication according to an embodiment of the present invention, and it should be noted that, for convenience of description, the technical solution of the method embodiment of the present invention is shown and described in fig. 2 in the form of steps, and the steps shown in fig. 2 may be executed in a computer system such as a set of computer executable instructions. Although a logical order is shown in fig. 2, in some cases, the steps shown or described may be performed in an order different than presented herein. As shown in fig. 2, the method includes the following steps (step S202 to step S204).
Step S202, the base station sends a system message updating instruction to the terminal;
step S204, in a preset time period, the base station sends the updated system message and a system message updating indication to the terminal, wherein the system message updating indication is used for informing the terminal to read the updated system message.
The following describes an embodiment of the present invention in detail with reference to fig. 3.
Fig. 3 is a schematic diagram illustrating a system message update according to an embodiment of the present invention, where, as shown in fig. 3, a base station sends a system message update indication and/or an updated system message to a terminal on a Broadcast Control Channel (BCCH). In the modification period (n) (corresponding to the current system update period described above), the base station sends a system message update indication to the UE, for example, the base station may send the system message update indication to the UE by carrying the system message update indication in a paging message; in a modification period (n +1) (corresponding to the next system update period described above), the base station sends an updated system message to the UE, and in a certain time period of the period, the base station still sends a system message update indication to the UE according to a preset control period, where the system message update indication may be sent once in each control period, that is, in a predetermined time period of the modification period (n +1), the base station sends the system message update indication to the UE, where the predetermined time period may be all or part of the time length of the modification period (n + 1). For example, the base station may send the system message update indication to the UE through the paging message, that is, the control cycle is a paging cycle, and at this time, the predetermined time period may be set to be an integer multiple of the paging cycle, so that, in the predetermined time period, the base station sends the paging information carrying the system message update indication at each paging occasion of the paging cycle.
In addition, an identification bit may be added to the system message update indication to indicate the time when the UE reads the updated system message, assuming that the application scenario is: the base station sends a system message update instruction of the system message update to the terminal in the current system update period, and sends the updated system message and the system message update instruction to the terminal in the preset time period of the next system update period adjacent to the current system update period, and then the method for setting the identification bit specifically comprises the following two modes.
The first method is as follows: setting a retransmission identification bit only for the system message updating indication sent in the next system updating period; the retransmission flag is configured to instruct the terminal to read the updated system message in the next system update period, or instruct the terminal to read the updated system message in the next system update period adjacent to the next system update period, and/or instruct the terminal to invalidate the system message update instruction carrying the retransmission flag read in the next system update period. For example, if the terminal reads a system message update instruction for the first time in the modification period (n), the terminal receives the system message update instruction carrying the retransmission flag bit in the modification period (n +1), where the system message update instructions in the modification period (n) and the modification period (n +1) both indicate the update of the same system message (i.e., indicate the same system update process), and the system message update instruction carrying the retransmission flag bit received in the modification period (n +1) is set to be invalid, and at this time, the terminal may start reading the system message updated this time in the modification period (n + 1).
When the terminal receives the system update indication information at the modification period (n +1), the terminal reads the system information from the current period or reads the system information in the next period according to the retransmission identification bit.
The second method comprises the following steps: setting a first identification bit for a system message update indication sent in a current system update period, and setting a retransmission identification bit for a system message update indication sent in a next system update period, wherein the first identification bit and the retransmission identification bit can satisfy one of the following conditions: the first identification bit is the same as the retransmission identification bit, the first identification bit is different from the retransmission identification bit, and the first identification bit and the retransmission identification bit indicate the same system updating process according to a preset relation. The first flag is configured to instruct the terminal to read the updated system message in the next system update period, the retransmission flag is configured to instruct the terminal to read the updated system message in the next system update period, or instruct the terminal to read the updated system message in the next system update period adjacent to the next system update period, and when the terminal reads the system message update indication carrying the first flag in the current system update period, the system message update indication carrying the retransmission flag read in the next system update period may be set as invalid. Specifically, the retransmission flag is used to indicate that the system message update indication in the predetermined time period is an extension of the system message update indication in the modification period (n), so that a UE that completes cell search in the modification period (n) but does not read the system message update indication may read the system message update indication in the predetermined time period in the modification period (n +1) to read the updated system message for subsequent operations. For example, the terminal receives a system message update instruction carrying a first identification bit in the modification period (n), and the terminal can read the updated system message in the modification period (n + 1); if the terminal receives a system message update instruction carrying a first identification bit in the modification period (n), the terminal receives a system message update instruction carrying a retransmission identification bit in the modification period (n +1), and when the first identification bit and the retransmission identification bit are marked as the same system information update, the system message update instruction carrying the retransmission identification bit received in the modification period (n +1) is set to be invalid, and the terminal can start reading the updated system message in the modification period (n + 1).
When the terminal receives the system update indication information at the modification period (n +1), the terminal reads the system information from the current period or reads the system information in the next period according to the retransmission identification bit.
Through the technical scheme provided by the embodiment of the invention, the base station can send the updated system message and the system message updating indication to the terminal after sending the system message updating indication to the terminal.
The following takes the control cycle as the paging cycle as an example, and the method provided by the embodiment of the present invention is described in detail with reference to example 1 and example 2.
Example 1
As shown in fig. 3, when a system message changes, the base station carries a system message update indication in a paging message in a modification period (n) (corresponding to the current system update period above) and sends the system message update indication to the UE through a paging channel, and the UE receives the updated system message in a modification period (n +1) (corresponding to the next system update period above) according to the system message update indication.
The base station sends the system message update indication to the UE again in the paging message within a predetermined time period of the modification period (n +1), and sends the updated system message to the UE within the modification period (n +1), wherein the length of the modification period (n +1) may be an integer multiple of a common multiple of a period in which the base station sends the system message and a paging period.
If the UE reads a system message updating instruction in the paging message in the modification period (n), reading the updated system message in the modification period (n +1) according to the instruction; if the UE reads the system message update indication again in the modification period (n +1), the UE may determine the system message update indication, for example, the UE may determine whether to read the updated system message according to the flag bit in the system message update indication, and if the first flag bit of the system message update indication in the modification period (n) is the same as the retransmission flag bit of the system message update indication in the modification period (n +1), the UE may not repeatedly read the updated system message; if the first flag bit indicated by the system message update in the modification period (n) is different from the retransmission flag bit indicated by the system message update in the modification period (n +1), the UE determines whether a predetermined relationship exists between the first flag bit and the retransmission flag bit, if the predetermined relationship exists between the first flag bit and the retransmission flag bit, the UE does not repeatedly read the updated system message, and if the predetermined relationship does not exist between the first flag bit and the retransmission flag bit, the UE does not repeatedly read the updated system message. That is, the UE determines whether the system message update indication in the modification period (n +1) is an extension of the system message update indication in the modification period (n), that is, determines whether the system message update indication in the modification period (n +1) has a corresponding flag bit, if so, the previous update indication is repeated, otherwise, a new system message update process is performed.
If the first flag bit of the system message update indication is not set in the modification period (n), and the retransmission flag bit of the system message update indication is set only in the modification period (n +1), the retransmission flag bit is used for indicating retransmission of the system message update indication in the current system update period. At this time, the process that the UE determines whether to read the updated system message according to the retransmission flag bit is as follows: if the system message updating indication information of the modification period (n +1) does not carry the retransmission identification bit, the next new system message updating process is represented, and the terminal needs to read the new system message; if the system message update indication information of the modification period (n +1) carries the retransmission flag, it indicates that the current system message update process is performed, and the terminal needs to read the updated system message.
If the UE does not read the system message update indication in the paging message in the modification period (n), but reads the system message update indication in the modification period (n +1), the UE will determine according to the Value tag in the system message, or read the updated system message in the modification period (n +1) according to the system message update indication.
According to the implementation method, in the process of updating the system message by the system, all the terminals can obtain the system message updating indication, and particularly, the problem that the terminals which perform cell access and do not receive the system message updating indication cannot perform system message updating is solved, so that the updating process of the system message is perfected, and the integral unification of a communication system is ensured.
Example 2
In this example, the base station and the UE read the system message update indication and the updated system message according to the method shown in fig. 3, and this example illustrates the effective point of the base station and the UE, that is, the time when the base station and the UE start to communicate according to the configuration information in the updated system message.
If the base station sends the system message update indication for the first time in the modification period (n) (corresponding to the current system update period), and sends the updated system message and the system message update indication together in the predetermined time period of the modification period (n +1), the valid point may be set as the starting point of the modification period (n +1) (corresponding to the next system update period), that is, the starting point of the period in which the base station sends the updated system message is set as the valid point. The flag of the system message update indication in the modification period (n +1) indicates that the modification period (n) is an extension of the system message update indication, and indicates that the period belongs to the system message update time and the updated system message is invalid or the period is over to be valid.
And at the moment of the effective point, the system and the UE simultaneously set the updated system message to be effective, the updated system message is configured at the system side and the UE side, the system side carries out data transmission according to the configuration information in the updated system message, and the UE carries out data transmission according to the configuration information in the updated system message.
Example 3
In this example, the base station and the UE read the system message update indication and the updated system message according to the method shown in fig. 3, and similar to example 2, this example will illustrate another effective point of operation of the base station and the UE. The differences from example 2 are: in example 2, the valid point is the starting point time of the modification period (n +1) (corresponding to the next system update period), and the length of the modification period (n +1) may be set as: the sending period of the system message is integral multiple of the common multiple of the paging period.
In this example, as shown in fig. 5, if the base station transmits the system message update indication for the first time within the modification period (n) (corresponding to the current system update period), and transmits the updated system message and the system message update indication together within a predetermined time period of the modification period (n +1), the valid point may be set to the start point time of the modification period (n +2) (corresponding to the next system update period adjacent to the next system update period), that is, the valid point may be the end point time of the modification period (n + 1). Preferably, the retransmission flag or the first flag may be used to indicate that the updated system message is valid from the start point of the modification period (n + 2). In addition, before the updated system message is set to be valid, both the base station and the terminal communicate according to the configuration information in the current system message.

Fig. 6 is a block diagram of a structure of an apparatus for indicating system message update according to an embodiment of the present invention, and as shown in fig. 6, the apparatus includes a first sending module 10 and a second sending module 20.

In a specific implementation process, the first sending module 10 is configured to send a system message update instruction to the terminal in a current system update period, and then the first sending module 10 is configured to send the system message update instruction to the terminal in a whole duration or a part of a duration of a next system update period adjacent to the current system update period. Specifically, the second sending module 20 may send paging information carrying a system message update indication at each paging occasion of a paging cycle, where the predetermined time period is an integer multiple of the paging cycle, or the second sending module 20 may send the system message update indication to the terminal according to a preset control cycle, where the system message update indication is sent once in each control cycle.
As described above, by means of the method and/or device for indicating system message update provided by the present invention, in the process of updating system messages in a system, all terminals can obtain system message update indication, and particularly, the problem that a terminal which performs cell access and does not receive the system message update indication cannot perform system message update is solved, thereby improving the update process of system messages and ensuring the overall unification of a communication system.
