Abstract

技术领域
本发明涉及一种包括多个发光二极管的照明装置。
背景技术
由于考虑功耗、持久性、尺寸等时发光二极管(LED)的优越属性,基于LED的照明装置被期待代替传统荧光照明和聚光灯具。
现有的LED基照明装置通常包括用于连接LED的专用双层印刷电路板(PCB)或类似物。这种LED基照明装置的示例例如在US7083317中披露,其中LED安装在柔性线路板上。而且,LED的发光表面与光导板的光入射端表面接触以用于耦合光到该光导板中。
然而,专用PCB或线路板的使用可能增加照明装置的厚度。而且,专用PCB可能暗示着照明装置的成本不低。
发明内容
本发明的目的是克服或至少减轻这些问题,并且提供改善的照明装置。
从下面的描述显见的这些或其它目标通过一种发光二极管(LED)照明装置来实现,该发光二极管照明装置包括光导板;多个LED,用于发射光到所述光导板内;多个向外耦合结构,用于从所述光导板提取光;以及第一和第二电极,连接到所述LED,其中所述第一电极布置在所述光导板的一侧且所述第二电极布置在所述光导板的另一侧。
本发明基于这样的理解:光导板可用于电隔离这两个电极。这两个电极可以具有不同的极性。任意专用PCB或用于容纳电极的附加隔离层变得陈旧过时,由此本发明的照明装置能够具有减小的厚度且用于该照明装置的成本可以缩减。而且,电极可用作该光导板两侧上的散热器,由此去除了任意专用热沉的需要且同样减小了照明装置的成本。
LED和向外耦合结构二者优选地均布置在光导板的平面内。例如,LED可以容纳在布置于光导板中的孔洞中。
电极可以是结构或非结构化的。结构化电极能够通过具有孔洞的板或箔或者通过线栅来实现,而非结构化的电极可以通过简单的导电板或箔来实现。
在优选实施例中,底部电极是非结构化的,而顶部电极是结构化的,顶部电极在通过向外耦合结构从光导板提取光的位置具有光透明区域(诸如孔径或孔洞)。在这种实施例中,电极还可用作不希望的方向中可能从LED泄漏的光的屏蔽,增加照明装置的效率且允许其遵循反炫光要求。方向‘顶部’在此表示照明装置的主发光方向。
而且优选地,LED或LED串是并联连接,由此单个LED或LED串的任意故障将并不明显地影响该照明装置的整体工作。并联连接例如可以通过使用具有分别连接到顶部和底部电极的顶-底接触的LED来实现。一般而言,LED接触(顶部和底部,仅底部,仅顶部)的选择涉及(多个)电极的结构化的选择。使用与电极相连的顶-底部接触LED的附加优点在于可以在电极之间夹紧光导板。因而,通过机械压力,无需光学接触,光导板可以简单地固定到电极,且诸如胶之类的附接装置并不是必须的。

具体实施方式
图1a是根据本发明实施例的照明装置10的横截面侧视图。照明装置10包括光导板12。该光导板12是透明的且可以由玻璃或塑料制成。
该照明装置10还包括多个发光二极管(LED)14,该多个发光二极管14布置在该光导板12的平面内且用于将光发射到该光导板12内。即,在图1中,LED是放置在光导板12中的通孔16内的边发射LED 14。LED 14的发光表面用18表示。备选地,LED可以是倾斜约90度的顶发射LED。每个孔洞16具有向内耦合侧刻面19,用于将来自孔洞16中的LED 14的光耦合到光导板12内。所有向内耦合侧刻面优选地面向相同的方向。LED 14优选地是低功率LED,以用于减小照明装置10的功耗且减小工作中的热产生。而且,低功率LED通常较小,这允许实现较薄的照明装置10。
另外,照明装置10包括多个向外耦合结构20,该多个向外耦合结构20布置在光导板12的平面内且用于从该光导板12提取光。即,在图1中,向外耦合结构在此是相对于向内耦合侧刻面19在孔洞16的相对一侧设置在光导板12中的反射表面20。反射表面20相对于光导板12的平面倾斜约45度。向内耦合刻面19和相对的反射表面20之间的每个孔洞16的剩余侧壁用于例如通过TIR来反射任意入射光。而且,如图1b所示,LED 14和反射表面20优选地按照交错分布而布置在光导平面内。
此外,返回到图1a,照明装置10包括用于将LED 14并联连接到电源26的顶部电极22和底部电极24。电极22、24可均由导电金属箔或板组成。顶部电极22布置在光导板12的顶部侧28且底部电极24布置在光导板12的底部侧30,由此光导板12用作这两个电极22、24之间的电隔离体。顶部电极22经由每个LED 14上的顶部接触32连接到LED 14,而底部电极24经由每个LED 14上的底部接触34连接到LED 14。电极22、24通过固定到LED 14而保持在一起的这种结构使得可以在电极22、24之间夹紧光导板12,且在不使用诸如胶等任意专用附加装置的情况下附接光导板12。
如图1b进一步所示,顶部电极22是结构化的,而底部电极24是非结构化的。即,顶部电极22包括离散孔洞36形式的光透明区域,孔洞36对准下面的向外耦合结构20。应当注意,孔洞36由于其位置而不干扰LED 14的馈电。在图1b中,底层的LED 14和向外耦合结构20以虚线示出。
在照明装置10的工作期间,LED 14通过电源26经由电极22、24馈电,由此LED 14发射的光首先耦合到光导板12内,然后,如示例性射线轨迹40所示,或者直接地或者被至少一个其它孔洞的侧壁反射之后,沿观察者38的方向通过另一孔洞16的反射表面20耦合出光导板12。因为顶部电极22的孔洞36直接布置在向外耦合结构20上方,退出光导板12的光可以容易地无阻碍地经过顶部电极22。而且,电极22、24可以阻止任意错误方向的光从光导板12泄漏出去,允许照明装置10遵循反眩光要求。而且,在工作期间,电极22、24提供LED 14产生的热的移除。
依赖于LED 14的厚度,光导板12的厚度可以在1-1.5mm的量级。在板的每一侧上包含一个电极22、24,这仅仅增加了照明装置14的总厚度。这应当和这种情况相比较:用于LED的电连接设置在单独的PCB上,该PCB然后与光导板并联布置。该PCB的厚度和该光导板的厚度相当,导致照明装置厚度翻倍。
现在参考图2a-b描述根据本发明的另一实施例的照明装置10。和图1a-b的装置相比,图2a-b的装置具有LED接触和电极结构化的不同选择。即,图2a-b中的装置包括串联的4个LED的并联组42。每个组或串联42包括具有顶部和底部接触的一个LED 14a以及仅具有顶部接触的三个LED 14b。隔离口44设置在顶部电极22上以串联连接一个顶-底部接触LED 14a与顶部接触14b,且将它们与装置的其它LED 14隔离。因此,隔离的导电“沟道”46设置在串联42的LED之间。由于其底部接触,顶-底部LED 14a将仍然与照明装置的其它顶-底部LED并联连接。而且,该串联连接中的最后的LED 14b经由顶部电极22并联到其它LED组。从图2b可以看出,最后,为了避免短路,底部电极24设置有与顶部接触LED 14b对准的尺寸经适当调整的隔离片(isolating patch)48,从而隔离顶部接触LED 14b。备选地,LED 14b的底部可以是隔离的,于是在底部电极24上不需要隔离片。
根据本发明的LED基照明装置10的应用包括诸如办公照明或气氛或装饰性照明的室内照明以及诸如建筑物、招牌等照明的室外照明。
本领域技术人员将意识到本发明没有限制为上述优选实施例的意思。相反,很多修改和变型在所附权利要求的范围内是可行的。例如,LED与不同接触(顶部和底部,仅底部,仅顶部)以及一个或两个电极中的结构化的很多其它组合可以实现所需的LED耦合。而且,LED和向外耦合结构的其它布置和设计是可以设想的。例如,边发射LED可以在若干不同方向发射光,且向外耦合结构可以布置成反射来自若干方向的光且在若干方向中将光引导出光导板。

Claims (11)

1.一种发光二极管(LED)照明装置(10),包括:
光导板(12),
多个LED(14),用于发射光到所述光导板内,
多个向外耦合结构(20),用于从所述光导板提取光,以及
第一和第二电极(22,24),连接到所述LED,其中所述第一电极布置在所述光导板的顶部侧(28)且所述第二电极布置在所述光导板的底部侧(30),使得所述光导板布置在所述电极之间,其中方向“顶部”指的是所述照明装置的主发光方向。
2.根据权利要求1所述的装置,其中所述LED布置在所述光导板的平面内。
3.根据权利要求2所述的装置,其中所述LED容纳在布置于所述光导板中的孔洞中。
4.根据权利要求1所述的装置,其中所述向外耦合结构布置在所述光导板的平面内。
5.根据权利要求1所述的装置,其中至少一个电极是非结构化的。
6.根据权利要求1所述的装置,其中至少一个电极是结构化的。
7.根据权利要求6所述的装置,其中所述结构化的电极包括通过所述向外耦合结构从所述光导板提取光的位置处的光透明区域

8.根据权利要求1所述的装置,其中LED或LED组是并联连接。
9.根据权利要求1所述的装置,其中至少部分所述LED具有用于连接到相应电极的顶部和底部接触(32,34)。
