Abstract

"HANDOFF ENTRE UMA REDE DE áREA LOCAL SEM FIO E UM SISTEMA DE COMUNICAçãO CELULAR". Handoff entre uma LAN sem fio e um sistema de comunicação celular é fornecido. Um sistema é projetado para fornecer serviços celulares nómades incluindo voz através de I.E.E.E. 802.11. Uma rede 802.11 é utilizada desde que a qualidade de voz seja aceitável. A qualidade de voz é medida e mantida por estar em um nível aceitável. Se a qualidade de voz degradar abaixo de um nível aceitável o desenho permite o handoff de chamada contínuo &ntre 802.11 e uma rede CDMA 1xRTT, por exemplo.
