La Bayou

Let's not mince words here: La Bayou is just cool. Located in the heart of the Fremont Street Experience and self-described as, "One of the smallest casinos you'll ever see," this casino is, point-blank, a great place to get hammered in a very short amount of time. This casino, which combines a mixture of a tropical and Louisiana theme, has operated since 1931 and contains 3,200 square feet of gaming space. As mentioned, it is located in the heart of the Fremont Street Experience and is a sister property of Mermaids (another casino) and the Glitter Gulch (a strip club also located on the Fremont Street Experience). It is not unusual for two or three cocktail waitresses to be combing the small floor of this casino, and if that's not quick enough, there's also a bar top. The best part of playing for drinks at this venue is the fact that cocktail waitresses are known to dish them out two or three at a time, so nobody is ever going to go thirsty here!!!

Gaming

The gaming floor consists of 125 of the latest and hottest slot, video keno and video poker machines. Consistent with the Old Vegas feel of Fremont Street is the fact that the machines in La Bayou pay out in coins rather than tickets, so for those of you who enjoy winning to sound like, "Ping-ping-ping-ping-ping," this a great venue. In addition to the newer machines they have in La Bayou, there are a number of older machines that cannot be found in very many other Vegas casinos. Some of the more popular games at this casino include Caveman Keno and Quick Hits.

Hotel/Accommodations

Unfortunately, neither La Bayou or either of its sister properties operates a motel. However, there are plenty of hotels to choose from within a mile. Hotel/Casinos also located on the Fremont Street Experience include The D, Four Queens, Golden Nugget, Golden Gate and Fremont. Nearby hotel/casinos include The Plaza, El Cortez, Downtown Grand, California and Main Street Station.

Dining

Unfortunately, this venue does not serve any food, but sister property, Mermaids, does and is known for a variety of fun desserts and treats.

Entertainment/Nightlife

Located in the heart of the Fremont Street Experience, La Bayou is right in the middle of the nightlife. With a fast-paced atmosphere and regular wheel spins for cash prizes, the excitement doesn't stop when you step in from Fremont Street, and sometimes, the atmosphere is more exciting! In the meantime, the Fremont Street Experience offers free nightly concerts and free nightly lightshows.
