Nepaisant daugiametės ir įvairialypės metodologinės veiklos jis nėra įvardijęs filosofijos, kuria grindžia savo metodologinę sistemą. Straipsnyje pateikiami argumentai, liudijantys, kad B. Bitiną galime laikyti ryškiausiu postpozityvizmo atstovu Lietuvoje.

One of the most prominent directions in the educational policy of the last three decades in democ... more One of the most prominent directions in the educational policy of the last three decades in democratic countries has been expansion of opportunities for parents and pupils to choose a school. The article presents the research problem consisting of the following issues: what is the connection between the opportunity to choose a school and the pupil’s gender, level of education, parents’ educational background, type of residential location, type of the school selected and motives for changing the school? A study was carried out covering 2,077 pupils having changed their school and their parents. The study results obtained allow stating the following: a) most pupils having changed their school in 2003 chose a new school themselves or together with parents; b) the higher the grade of pupils, the more they tend to choose an educational institution on their own; c) more opportunities to choose a school are available for pupils living in large cities; e) the influence of better educated parents on choice of school is bigger; f) having an opportunity to choose a school, pupils choose a school for better quality of education more often than those who do not have such an opportunity

The article analyzes urgent issued that has not been studied yet in Lithuania – socialization of ... more The article analyzes urgent issued that has not been studied yet in Lithuania – socialization of children, whose one or both parent temporarily emigrated to work abroad. The author tried to reveal what impact on children’s socialization parents’ departure abroad has had. To this purpose in 2004 using questionnaire survey methods a quantitative type research was conducted, in which 163 pupils (whose one or both parent temporarily emigrated to work abroad) of the 5th-12th grades participated. Results of the research are interpreted in socialization and loss theory contexts

The article focuses on the usage of digital learning tools by primary school teachers in order to... more The article focuses on the usage of digital learning tools by primary school teachers in order to enhance student engagement in learning. Based on the data obtained in the focus groups of educators teaching at primary school, ways to identify and enhance student engagement in learning through digital learning tools were identified. The analysis of the research data proved that the use of the said tools enhanced students’ cognitive, emotional and behavioural engagement in learning. To this end, teachers reconstructed common educational practices, anticipated the hindrances to engagement caused by digital technologies and the ways to overcome them, exploited the opportunities provided by digital learning tools, and applied effective means to ensure classroom management and interaction between students.
