Kid Made Hermit Crabs

I am still recovering from this flu, I would like to thank everyone for their get well wishes. I hope by this week I am back to normal.

My kids and I did do this great craft today. I loved it, it turned out so well and it was so easy.

Hermit Crabs

You will need: Jumbo Pasta Shells, Large Pom-Poms, wiggly eyes, paint, paint brushes, glue and pipe stem cleaners.

1. Decorate the pasta shell. Allow time for paint to dry.

Glue large pom-pom inside the shell.

Glue on eyes. Fold up pipstem cleaners to make them thicker for the pinchers. Glue the pinchers between the pompom and the shell.
You can put your crab on a paper plate with some sand or sit on some sand paper.

We put one of ours in a bug cage.

My oldest has been wanting a "real" crab for sometime now. This is just the answer we've been looking for. ;) Thanks, the boys will love it.
I love them! Tried to guess what you'd used for the bodies, but would never have come up with pasta shells. Very creative!

Hope you're back to normal soon!

I love it. We have had the real ones and these look much easier and I don't have to freak out when I find that they crawled out of their shells and died. Have you ever witnessed that? GROSS!!!
Smiles!

Okay, so I didn't tell you---but I tried to get Gage on board with the black handprint lamb for Easter cards....he FREAKED OUT about the ink on his hands. So, that didn't work out. But, it was fun & funny!
Just wanted to say I hope the flu has flown! TAKE CARE! Your craft admirers miss you. :)

Simply adorable!

I'll have to write this project down so I remember to do it when my kids are a little older.

Great idea, thanks!
