The health status of the honey bee populations has attracted a great amount of interest in recent... more The health status of the honey bee populations has attracted a great amount of interest in recent years. We investigated honey bee health in five natural protected areas in Italy from October 2009 to December 2010. Areas were selected to represent a wide range of bio‑geographical zones including alpine, continental, and Mediterranean. Within each of these natural protected areas, one apiary of 20 colonies near potential pollution sources (e.g., agricultural areas, industrial areas, or urban settlements) and another apiary of 20 colonies far from possible sources of pollutants have been placed. To monitor honey bee health, colony mortality was related to: honey bee pathologies, environment (Naturality Index, plant protection products and heavy metal exposure), and apiary management. Anthropogenic pollutants and pathogens did not have significant effects on colony mortality while environment and the poor colony management skills of the beekeepers did.

A partire dal mese di maggio del 2009 è stata promossa dal Ministero dell´Ambiente e della Tutela... more A partire dal mese di maggio del 2009 è stata promossa dal Ministero dell´Ambiente e della Tutela del Territorio e del Mare un’indagine all’interno di cinque aree naturali protette (Parco Nazionale delle Dolomiti Bellunesi (PNDB, Veneto),Parco dei Gessi bolognesi e dei Calanchi dell’Abbadessa (PGBCA, Emilia Romagna),Parco di Migliarino San Rossore Massaciuccoli (PMSRM, Toscana),Riserva Naturale Statale Litorale Romano (RNSLR, Lazio),Parco dei Monti Simbruini (PMS, Lazio) per verificare lo stato di salute delle api, attraverso osservazioni su eventuali fenomeni di moria o diminuzione numerica delle stesse, in seguito all’esposizione ad inquinanti di origine antropica. Experts from the Department for Monitoring, Environmental Protection and Conservation of Biodiversity of ISPRA carried out inspections on July, August and September 2017 in order to assess the status of conservation of lake and, in particular, of riparian and aquatic vegetation and habitats, as result of the significant decrease of water levels .

An acoustic network approach was used to model and control thermo-acoustic interaction in gas tur... more An acoustic network approach was used to model and control thermo-acoustic interaction in gas turbines. A hybrid approach was chosen: numerical, experimental and analytical techniques are combined to describe the system. The network modules are represented as state-space realizations. A modal expansion technique is used to obtain a state-space representation of the acoustic propagation through complex 3-dimensional geometries. The modal expansion can be based on analytic models or finite element analysis. Complex modules, as the thermo-acoustic burner properties, are modeled using a combined experimental and analytic approach. The method is not restricted to symmetries: configurations with geometrically or operationally different burners are simulated in time or frequency domain.

presenza di terreni agricoli. In alcuni casi, i principi attivi impiegati, raggiungendo rapidamente gli habitat naturali, determinano la contaminazione delle reti trofiche naturali, provocando un impatto sulle specie e sugli habitat protetti, anche a notevole distanza dai luoghi di irrorazione.
