Simon Says.......Let It Snow!

Happy Wednesday - welcome to our challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge!

Our theme this week is "Let it Snow!", and my teamies and I are showcasing Lawn Fawn goodies!  Here's the card I made.

supplies: white cardstock, silver glitter card, Doodlebug and an unknown buffalo check  patterned papers, Lawn Fawn Stitched Snowflake dies, Memory Box (retired) Let it Snow dies, glittery silver ribbon and silver sequins

I die-cut 2 snowflakes, from 3 different colored and white dps, and also a white ring using 2 circle dies.  The flakes were layered, topped with a silver sequin, and then arranged around the ring before popping it above my buffalo check background.  I added a silver bow and my sentiment cut from silver glitter card to finish.

Now it's your turn!  We have a $25.00 gift certificate

Simon Says.......Bling It On!

Happy Wednesday!  Welcome to another challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog!

wed-newchallenge-header

This week our theme is Bling it On! and my teammates and I are playing with Studio Katia goodies.  I chose a floral stamp set and some flower sequins from them, coloring the flowers to match the sequins, and made a shaker card.

supplies: white card stock, Studio Katia Floral Trimmings clear stamp set and their Radiant Pineapple and Misty Rose Flowers sequins, my own aqua sequins, Tonic Nuvo markers to color (Sunshine Yellows, Coral Reef, Aquamarine, and Irish Clover), Simon's Friendship Blooms sentiment and Stitched Circle die, adhesive foam strips

I stamped both strips of flowers from the set and colored them, alternating the bigger ones between yellow and coral, and then did the leaves in green and the smaller flowers in aqua.  Then I cut apart the 2 strips so that I could piece a semi-circle around my circular shaker.   I also added a few aqua sequins inside my shaker circle to carry that color througout.

Now it's your turn!  We have a $50.00 gift certificate

wed-newchallenge-header

This week our theme is Food and/or Drink and we're showcasing Neat & Tangled goodies.  I mixed their sequins with some Simon coffee-themed stamps and dies.

supplies: white card stock, Doodlebug design papers, Simon's What's Brewing sentiment, Coffee Cup die, and Diagonal Stripe stencil, vintage photo distress ink and a blending brush, Neat & Tangled Coffee & Cream Sequin Mix

My second card uses the sequins, and another of Simon's coffee-themed sets to make a shaker card.

supplies: white and kraft card stock, acetate, patterned papers from Doodlebug and Lawn Fawn, Simon's Coffee and Tea stamp set, Neat and Tangled Coffee & Cream Mix sequins, washi tape to enclose sequin package, Doodlebug Tiny Heart sprinkles (on cups)

I made a little packet of white stamped card, acetate, and sequins, and enclosed them with a binding of washi tape.

Now it's your turn!  We have a $50.00 gift certificate

Sending Hugs

Today I'm sharing a card inspired by one I made 2 years ago - love these colors together!

supplies: Simon's Audrey Blue and Dark Chocolate,  Bazill's Candy Necklace and some browns from Tim Holtz Nostalgic collection paper pad, Altenew Fantasy Florals dies, Tim Holtz Woodgrain embossing folder, sentiment from  (retired) Hero Arts XO set, sequins to match

I think this has a kind of modern fall feel to it - what do you think?

Rosy Smiles

I have had the Bamboo Roses on my wishlist forever, and I finally got them!  Here's my first play with them, mixed with elements from lots of other companies.

supplies: white and Simon's Khaki cardstock, Impression Obsession Wooden Plank cling, Tammy Tutterow Dear Ruby cling (script), Hero Arts Wet Cement ink, Simon's Stitched Rectangle die, Altenew Bamboo Rose, VersaMark ink and white embossing powder, watercolored in Puffy Heart, Warm Sunshine, and Forest Glades inks diluted with water, Winnie & Walter Big, Bold Friends sentiment, VersaFine onyx black ink, adhesive foam squares, irridescent sequins for a little sparkle

I stamped my wooden plank, then overstamped the Dear ruby cling, both in the same ink - it's subtle, but that's the way I wanted it.......The flowers were white embossed, watercolored, and cut out, then arranged to fit around the stamped sentiment.

Hope you're enjoying your summer - it's flying by!  We're getting some rain here this weekend.

Altenew Inspiration Challenge

My friend Virginia is now on Altenew's Design Team and she is hosting this month's Inspiration Challenge there!  I turned once again to my favorite Altenew flower set and used Virginia's colors.

supplies: white cardstock, Avery Elle Wonky Stitches die, Altenew Painted Flowers and Painted Greetings stamps, Paper Sweeties flower sequins to match

I love these bright colors - and it's a fun change from my usual pastels.  I thought this sentiment was the perfect one to go with them, as was the wonky stitches framing; sprinkling on lots of sequins reinforces the celebration theme, too.  I didn't plan it this way, but this looks like a shot from above of these lovely ladies dancing!

Here's Virginia's fun inspiration photo, taken from her travels:

And, since flowers are my favorite motif, I'm also entering my card into The Flower Challenge.

Five for Friday

Here's my addition to Tammy's Five for Friday feature today.

supplies: white cardstock, Tammy Tutterow Flower Swag 3 and Simple Line Border, Simon's Sending Happy Thoughts, Zig markers and water , sequins to match

I stamped the flower swag twice,  then watercolored and cut them out and attached them at opposite corners of the line border frame, leaving enough space to stamp my sentiment between them.  The line border frame is one of those stamps that will be invaluable, I think - it doesn't take away from a design, but can be used as a fun accent!  Tammy has a more ornate frame coming soon - see it here

Elegant Roses

Last week I found a gorgeous card by Lisa Addesa at her blog I'm in Haven that used 2 Simon dies, and I practically fell over myself to make my own version of her card, with some of my favorite things - yellow roses and hugs!

supplies: white, 3 Doodlebug yellows,  Green Apple and Green Leaf cardstock, Simon's Elegant Roses and Partial Cut Leaves dies, Big Scripty Greetings sentiment, Paper Sweeties Cookie Dough flower sequins

I first die-cut my roses, then taped them to my panel temporarily so that I could decide where to place the leaves.   After the leaves were cut and lined with 2 green cardstock colors, I then paper-pieced my roses and attached them to the panel.  Next I stamped my sentiment, popped the panel above my card base, then added some sequins.

It may not be obvious, but the leaves are partial die-cuts, so that they are attached to the panel at one end (and under the flowers), but can be pulled up and popped a bit.  Such a fun dimension!

Thanks, as always, for your visit!

Simon Says.........Add Some Sparkle

wed-newchallenge-header

Welcome to another challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog!

This week our theme is "Add Some Sparkle", and the team are playing with Hero Arts products.  I went with blues and snowflakes for both of my cards, using glitter cardstock and sequins for my sparkle.

supplies: white and white glitter cardstock, peacock feathers and broken china distress inks, Hero Arts Paper Layering Snowflakes, Beauty of the Season, and Magical Background, VersaMark ink and white embossing powder, Simon's Stitched Rectangle die, moonshine sequins, adhesive foam squares

I cut out a stitched rectangle panel, then sponged it with 2 colors of distress inks.  Next I overstamped the Magical Background, then stamped and embossed my sentiment.  Lastly, I die-cut the snowflakes from the panel, popped them up, and added some sequins for my sparkle.  The panel was then popped above a white glitter cardstock.

These snowflakes are really fun to play with!  I love the dimension that they add to an otherwise flat card.  There are framing dies for each flake included in the set, so that you can cut them out completely and place them anywhere you'd like, if you prefer.

For my 2nd card, I chose a big snowflake woodblock stamp and used lots of silver for my sparkle.

supplies: dark glimmery blue cardstock, silver glitter cardstock, Dazzling Snowflake, Versamark ink and Ranger super fine detail silver embossing powder, Concord & 9th Take a Bough snowflake die, Simon Merry & Bright die, Hero Arts adhesive crystals

Now it's your turn - I can't wait to see what you create!  Heidi has provided another $50.00 gift voucher

More Christmas from Tammy Tutterow

I have 2 more cards today as part of Tammy's Five for Friday feature coming tomorrow!  Again this time, I'm featuring a couple of her Christmas designs, and once again, I used some patterned papers.

supplies: spruce card base, Doodlebug snowflake design paper, Tammy's Happy Holly Days cling stamp, red and green markers to color, red pearls

I stamped directly onto the snowflake paper, embossed my stamping in clear, then colored in the details.  The panel was trimmed and attached to my card base.  Then I separately stamped, colored, and cut out the holly, and popped it above the base, adding some pearls as berries.

Next up, something a bit more whimsical:

supplies: white and red cardstock, Doodlebug ginghams in 3 greens, a yellow floral, and a striped design paper, Tammy's Merry & Bright Tree cling stamp, red and brown markers to color, red sequins

After stamping the entire design on white cardstock, I stamped and fussy-cut parts of the tree and paper-pieced them back onto the image.  The panel was framed, attached to my card base, and then I added red sequins.

Be sure to visit Tammy's blog to see what my teamies did this time!

The design team were generously given some STAMPtember products to play with, and I've made 2 cards to show them off.

My first card features the new Believe die:

And hopefully you saw THIS POST at the beginning of this month, when I used the fabulous new Merry Christmas clear stamp.

Simon Says........Anything Goes

wed-newchallenge-header

Happy Wednesday!  Welcome to another challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday blog!

It's the last week of the month, so that means it's Anything Goes!  My teamies and I are playing with Avery Elle products this week, and if you have anything of their's, we'd love to see you using them too!

I love wreaths, and have had this Banner & Wreath set on my wishlist, so I was thrilled to be able to get it and use it for this challenge.  The little birds that are included were a real plus for me!  I decided to use seasonal colors, as fall has been calling to me these last hot days of August.

supplies: white and Hero Arts Latte cardstock, Avery Elle Banner & Wreath stamps, Memento Markers, VersaFine onyx black and Hero Arts Latte inks,  MFT DieNamics Stitched Mini Scallop die, flower sequins

This set has the perfect sized wreath, and lots and lots of floral sprigs  - I only used one of them, along with the birds and 1 of the sentiments in this set.  There are matching dies, but I enjoyed fussy-cutting these out myself.

My next card was heavily influenced by Dawn W's card:

supplies: Bristol paper, Avery Elle Floral Frame clear stamp set, Spectrum Aqua markers and water, peacock feathers and a bit of twisted citron distress inks for background washes, adhesive foam squares, Simon moonshine sequins

I white embossed my flower sprays, colored them in with a bit of water, and fussy-cut around their inside edges, leaving the corners of each piece intact.  Then I watercolored the outside edges of each panel.  I did the same for the card base before stamping and white embossing the sentiment.  To finish, the panels were popped above the card base, and I sprinkled some sequins.

Now it's your turn - I can't wait to see what you create!  Heidi has provided another $50.00 gift voucher
