Simon Says........Bright Color Mood Board

Happy Wednesday - welcome to our challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog!

wed-newchallenge-header

Our Karin has made a Bright Color mood board to inspire us!

The team is showcasing Doodlebug Design goodies this week - I adore their 6" paper pads.  The patterns are scaled down perfectly for our cards.  So this week I paired a variety of these patterned papers with some of their sprinkles (enamel dots) and some flower dies.

supplies: white and a tiny strip of black card, patterned papers from Doodlebug Floral-Graph, Dot-Stripe and Gingham-Linen Rainbow Petite Prints, MFT black and white striped dp and Stitched Blooms dies, various Doodlebug sprinkles, sentiment from Simon Summer Garden

In my opinion, these patterned papers are a perfect pairing with the Stitched Blooms dies!

Now it's your turn!  We have a $50.00 gift certificate

Simon Says........Spring!

Happy Wednesday!  Welcome to this week's challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog!

wed-newchallenge-header

Our Karin has put together a sweet Spring Mood Board to inspire this week's cards, and my teamies and I are playing with Simon Says Stamp exclusives:

I zeroed in on those bright pink tulips at the top of the board and made 2 cards this week, one using stamps and one using a die.

supplies: white, black, and Green Apple card, Bristol paper, Simon's Spring Flowers stamps, Zig markers and water, Simon Four Seasons die, MFT Wonky Stitched Rectangle die

Next I used this pretty little Sweet Tulip die:

supplies: white, 3 pinks, robin's egg, and Green Apple card, Sunny Studio Gingham Pastels dp,    Simon Sweet Tulip die and (retired) Flower Friend sentiment, adhesive fun foam

I cut the tulip once from all of the colored card stocks, then attached the white one to a panel of adhesive backed-foam, sticky-side up.  Then I simply pieced in the tulip and leaves details from the colored die-cuts.

Now it's your turn!  We have a $50.00 gift certificate

Simon Says..........Easter Inspired

wed-newchallenge-header

Happy Wednesday!  Welcome to another challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog!

We're asking you to be inspired by Easter this week - we're playing with Your Next Stamp products.  You don't have to use their products to enter, but we'd love to see them if you do! Our Jenn designed a Spring/Easter inspiration board - such pretty pastels!

Here's my take on it.

supplies: white cardstock, My Favorite Things Lucky Prints dps, Your Next Stamp A Cute Stack stamp set and sentiment from Simon's Some Bunny, Zig markers, Simon's Stitched Circle die

I had trouble finding a good place for my sentiment - I solved the problem by cutting the stamp in half and stamping one word above the other, then die-cutting it into a circle.

Now it's your turn!  Heidi has provided another $50.00 gift voucher

Simon Says........Spring Color Inspiration

wed-newchallenge-header

Happy Wednesday!  Welcome to another challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog!

Our theme this week is this lovely Spring Color Inspiration that our Jenn made up for us:

spring-inspiration-board

......and we are playing with Lawn Fawn products!  You don't have to use them for your entry, but if you have any, we'd love to see what you do with them!

My eyes went to that bicycle in the top left corner, and I remembered this bicycle stamp.......here's my card for this week:

supplies:  white, banana, and apple green cardstock, plaid dp from Doodlebug Smitten Kitten, Lawn Fawn Cruising Through Life and (retired) Home Sweet Home (birds), sentiment from Simon's Flower Friend, Zig markers, Die-Namics Wonky Stitched Rectangle die

I simply stamped the bicycle on a wonky rectangle, colored it, and then made a little slit in the basket to insert the flowers from the same set.  I doodled some grass, and then added the little banner and birds.  I thought this plaid paper was a really good match to Jenn's color swatches.

Now it's your turn - I can't wait to see what you create!  Heidi has provided another $50.00 gift voucher

Simon Says.........Ice Inspiration

wed-newchallenge-header

Welcome to another challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog!

This week we have a beautiful photo inspiration put together by our Jenn.

The Design Team are playing with My Favorite Things products this week.

My first card uses a favorite Christmas set:

supplies: white and red cardstock, last year's dps from Doodlebug and Simple Stories, MFT Santa's Elves, colored with Spectrum Noir markers and a silver pencil, sentiment from Hero Arts Family and Friends, Wink of Stella pen on ornament, star, and his "fur", adhesive foam squares

I wish I could capture the glitzy snowflake background directly behind the elf - love how it sparkles from across the room!

For my next card, I took the feeling of all that iciness from the photo inspiration, and made a quilt card.  There isn't anything better than cozying up under a quilt when it's cold outside!

supplies: tan, white, and brick red cardstock, various dps from my stash of Christmas papers, MFT Quilt Square Cover-up, sentiment from Let's Get Cozy, Simon Schoolhouse Red ink, Cuttlebug Wicker Weave embossing folder, Lawn Fawn Stitched Snowflakes die, tiny red button

I cut the quilt square out multiple times, then pieced the pieces back into the frame, and when it was finished I embossed it for some extra dimension, before attaching it to my card base.  Then I added my sentiment from a fun sentiment set that has lots of quilt-related sentiments, and popped a stitched snowflake in the center of my quilt to reinforce the ice theme.

Now it's your turn - I can't wait to see what you make for us this week!  As always we have a $50.00 gift voucher

Simon Says.........Photo Inspiration

wed-newchallenge-header

Welcome to another challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog!

This week Jenn has made us a photo inspiration to work from!  You can do something for Halloween or for fall, however this moves you:

The Design Team are using Simon exclusive products this week.  The changing of the leaves is one of my favorite delights about the season, and both my cards this week reflect that.   The picture in the upper right rang true with me; my family always took a drive each fall, packed a picnic, and got outside for a long walk in the woods to enjoy the crisp air, crunchy leaves, and gorgeous colors.

supplies: ivory cardstock, cherry wood veneer, Simon's Nutty Over You and sentiment from (retired) Autumn Blessings clear stamp sets, various fall ink colors, wood heart, twine, Christmas Red stickles, adhesive foam squares

I used a circle die to draw a light circle on my cardstock, then stamped the leafy branch all the way around it.  After erasing my pencil lines, I filled in with other elements from the Nutty set, and then fussy-cut my wreath out.  Before popping it above my card base, I added a twine bow, a wood heart dipped in red ink, and some Stickle berries.  I thought the wood veneer panel was a nice addition to my background.

Next up, another wreath, this time using die-cuts:

supplies: board design paper, Simon's Stitched Maple Trio and Christmas Blessings dies, mini distress inks, applied with round ink blending tools, adhesive foam squares, twine, enamel dot

Now it's your turn - I can't wait to see what you make for us this week!  As always we have a $50.00 gift voucher

NSD Mood Board

Over the weekend, Winnie & Walter, along with Pink Fresh Studio, had lots of challenges to celebrate National Scrapbooking Day.  And coincidentally I FINALLY was able to snag these Hollyhock dies, after years of missing them as they became available!  So, inspired by the watercolored flowers in the notebook at the bottom of the mood board, here's my first play with them:

supplies: Impression Obsession Hollyhock dies, various solid pastel cardstock,  PTI Picket Fence die, Winnie & Walter spring cutaway (Big, Bold Seasons), pearls, dps from Echo Park's Bundle of Joy Dots & Stripes Boy and Girl pads, Martha Stewart butterfly punch

Here's the mood board:

Monday Mood Board

This is the Mood Board this time - it has all my favorite things!  Soft pink, pearls, doily, lace, just lovely!  I knew just what I wanted to do!

I started with this paper from My Mind's Eye Bramble Rose, and the flowers reminded me so much of the blanket-stitched flowers from Blanket-Stitched Blooms.  So I colored up a few, put them on a Spellbinder's Floral Oval, added some pearls to their centers, and gold-embossed a sentiment from the same stamp set.  Couldn't resist adding this gingham ribbon, as the color works just right!  Love how this came out - it makes me smile - hope it does the same for you!  Thanks for visiting me today!
