This study was purposely conducted on the assessment of the impact of quality assurance on teache... more This study was purposely conducted on the assessment of the impact of quality assurance on teachers’ job performance in senior secondary schools in Gusau Education Zone, Zamfara State, Nigeria. A descriptive research design of correlational type was employed in the study. The population of the study comprised 63 principals of senior secondary schools in Gusau education zone. A total of 41 respondents were selected through cluster sampling technique. To maintain accuracy of the results, the data analysis was conducted on Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS) version ‘29. The study expressed the statistical value of (r=0.613, P<0.05), denoting that there exist a moderate significant relationship between quality assurance and teachers’ job performance among senior secondary schools in Gusau education zone, Zamfara State. Based on findings the study recommends that there is need for the government to encourage quality assurance in education by providing human and financial resources required for effective quality assurance exercises in public secondary schools. The government in collaboration with relevant stakeholders in educational sector should maintain the culture of trainings, workshops, and seminars for teachers and school administrators to participate in the process of actualising an efficient quality assurance practices.

This study aimed at assessing the status of effective educational planning and staff performance ... more This study aimed at assessing the status of effective educational planning and staff performance in some selected schools in Zamfara State, Nigeria. Two research questions were established to achieve the objectives of the study. A descriptive-survey research design was adopted. The population of the study consisted of all Public Secondary Schools in Gusau Metropolis of Zamfara State, having a total of 24 public secondary schools with 670 teachers. A total number of 12 public secondary schools and 225 in-service teachers were sampled to serve as participants in this study using simple random sampling technique. The sample size was determined using Morgan and Krejcie (1971) table of determining sample size. For the purpose of data collection, two (2) self-structured questionnaires were constructed on a 4-point Likert’s Scale with 29 constructs. The data analysis was made using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics tools. The results revealed that, the status of effective educational planning in public schools in Zamfara State was found at a ‘High Extent’ with statistical value of (M=4.56, SD=3.95). Similarly, the status of staff performance in public schools in Zamfara State was found at a ‘High Extent’ with statistical value of (M=3.69, SD=2.61). Based findings, in order to maintain the high level of the effectiveness of educational planning in Nigeria, the Federal, State, and Local, and Governments as well as other relevant international and local organizations should put hands on deck in employing more professional planners and deploy them to the ministries and agencies for effective planning of education

A research null hypothesis was established to guide the research work. The study adopted correlational survey design. The population of the study comprised 24 public secondary schools with 670 in-service teachers. From the population of the study, a total number of 12 public secondary schools and 225 in-service teachers were sampled to serve as participants in this study using simple random sampling technique. The sample size was determined using Krejcie and Morgan's (1971) table of determining sample size. Two (2) self-structured questionnaires entitle: "Effective Educational Planning Assessment Questionnaire (EEPAQ) and "Staff Performance Evaluation Questionnaire (SPEQ)" were constructed and utilized as instruments for data collection. The data analysis was computed using Descriptive Statistics and Inferential Statistics. The Pearson Moment Product Correlation Coefficient analysis results (r=0.514, P<0.05) revealed that there is a moderate but significant relationship between effective educational planning and school staff performance among public schools in Gusau Local Government Area, Zamfara State, Nigeria. Based on findings, the study recommends that in order to maintain the high level of the effectiveness of educational planning in Nigeria, the Federal, State, and Local, and Governments as well as other relevant international and local organizations should put hands on deck in employing more professional planners and deploy them to the ministries and agencies for effective planning of education.

To achieve this objective, two research questions were establish to guide the study. This study used survey design. A descriptive research design of survey type was employed in the study. The study population comprised all teachers in 126 government-owned basic schools in Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State, Nigeria. 230 teachers were sampled through a random sampling technique using Krejie and Morgan’s Sample Size Determining Table. A structured questionnaire was developed as an instrument for data collection. Data analysis was made using descriptive statistics. The study observed that both levels of school records keeping and that of school records management was at moderate level among basic schools in Bungudu Local Government Area, Zamfara State. Based on findings, it is recommended that government should provide all the relevant/essential materials required for record keeping at the disposal of in service teachers and other school personnel deployed inthe basic schools. Also, head teachers should be exposed to modality of keeping and management the school records which should be done through workshops, effective supervisions and mentoring.

A semi-structured questionnaire was developed as an instrument for data collection from the respondents. The data analysis was made using inferential statistics (Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient) through Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 22. Analytically, based on findings, this study recommends that government should provide all the relevant/essential materials required for school inventory management at the disposal of in-service teachers and other school personnel.

Descriptive survey research was employed and 190 teachers were simple randomly sampled out of the total population of 367 in-service teachers in Gusau LGA through Morgan and Krejcie’s (1971) table of determining sample size. Three research questions were established in order to achieve the three objectives formulated for the study. Descriptive statistics (Simple percentage, mean, and standard deviation) were utilized in data analysis. A semi-structured questionnaire developed by Lezzote and Snyder (2011) on a five Likert type scale instrument with 21 items was employed as an instrument for data collection. The instrument composite reliability was computed using Cronbach&#39;s alpha method and obtained the value of .949. All data covered in the study were collected through a field survey approach. Analytically, the current study discovered that, the degree of school effectiveness was at a high extent with mean score (M=3.68, SD=0.15). Based on this finding, the paper recommends that, stakeholders in educational sector comprising government&#39;s ministries, departments and agencies, policy-makers, secondary schools&#39; principals, instructional teachers as well as the learners and their parents/guardians should reciprocally work together in the process of appropriate perpetration and advancement of effective school system and its practices.

Descriptive survey research was employed and 190 teachers were simple randomly sampled out of the total population of 367 in-service teachers in Gusau LGA through Morgan and Krejcie's (1971) table of determining sample size. Three research questions were established in order to achieve the three objectives formulated for the study. Descriptive statistics (Simple percentage, mean, and standard deviation) were utilized in data analysis. The paper observed that Audio Materials were "Rarely Available" (M=1.99, SD=1.58); Visual Materials were "Much Available" (M=2.73, SD=2.34); while AudioVisual Materials were "Rarely Available" (M=1.68, SD=1.33). In light of this, the study, therefore, recommends that Government, stakeholders in the educational sector, non-governmental and civil society organizations, as well as other well-to-do philanthropists in Zamfara State and particularly in Gusau LGA should endeavor to put more efforts to provide/donate more instructional materials (Audio, Visual, and AudioVisual) for public secondary schools to meet the required amount of materials for the purpose of the enhancing the learners' academic performance and successful professional course delivery of teachers.
