Peptidase activity in solubilized membrane fractions of ChP4 from control and BMX animals. A: representative chromatographs for angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE), ACE2, and neprilysin (NEP) activity. Activity was abolished with specific inhibitors to ACE + lisinopril (LIS); ACE2 + MLN (MLN4762); and NEP + SCH (SCH37392). B: there was no difference in peptidase activity between control and BMX animals (n = 5). C: enzyme activities of control and BMX animals were combined for comparison; ACE2 activity was significantly higher than either ACE or NEP (n = 10). **P < 0.01, ***P < 0.001.
