Meet the Team

With a diverse background in aviation, Israel has worked as an airline pilot, operating ATR and Airbus aircraft models in various countries across South America and Southeast Asia. Prior to his airline career, Israel served as a certified flight instructor/examiner and held the position of Head of Safety at a prominent flight school in Brazil.

Israel's academic achievements include a bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Science, a certificate for graduate studies in Business Administration and a Master of Science in Aeronautics with Embry-Riddle.

He joined Embry-Riddle in September of 2019 as the Executive Director for Central & South America. In August of 2022, he was appointed Vice Chancellor and Head of Central & South America. Israel is currently responsible for leading the operations and strategic planning of the university to the region. He plays a pivotal role in business development and serves as the main point of contact for various partnerships in Central and South America.

Marília Melhado Bonfigli is an aviation professional with a rich background in the industry. She embarked on her aviation journey at VASP Airlines, where she got her passion for the field. With an impressive 19-year tenure at GOL Airlines, Marília's expertise spans across various domains, including the OCC, network planning, institutional relations, internal communication and marketing.

In addition to her corporate experience, Marília has also ventured into entrepreneurship as a partner in a charming B&B located in the countryside of São Paulo. Leveraging her diverse background and passion for aviation, she serves as the Associate Director of Operations for Embry-Riddle's Central & South America team.

Lucas, a Business Administration graduate from Insper, combines a keen interest in space exploration and aviation with an understanding of business fundamentals. He aspires to contribute meaningfully to the business side of space and aviation. In May 2023, Lucas joined Embry-Riddle Central & South America and currently holds the position of Assistant Manager of Finance & Business Development.

Nicoly is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Science and joined Embry-Riddle in January 2022 as an intern. She is responsible for the strengthening of the partnership between PUCRS (Brazilian education institution) and Embry-Riddle in Brazil, as well as providing assistance to teachers and students.

Before going to university, Nicoly studied in a language-focused secondary school in Italy. She also holds a Private Pilot License and has begun flight training towards her Commercial Pilot License.
