Women in Red
editHi there, Gyregimble, and welcome to Women in Red. It's good to have someone interested in covering tax lawyers. For a new contributor, you already seem to have become quite a proficient editor, making good progress on Joanne Garvey. Nevertheless, if you want to gain further experience in editing, I recommend The Wikipedia Adventure. For women's biographies, you might also like to look at our Ten Simple Rules. Please let me know if you run into any difficulties or need assistance. If Garvey is not approved within the next few days, drop a message on my talk page and I'll help you out. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 12:12, 5 August 2019 (UTC)

Edit at Tax
editHi! I don't understand why you removed the archive-urls with this edit. Could it have been a mistake? Sjö (talk) 05:22, 17 November 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you for letting me know. I am very sorry. I have no idea how that happened. I simply wanted to correct "individuals" to "an individual's." It absolutely was a mistake. Please let me know if there is anything I can or should do to fix it. Should I undo my edit, or has it already been corrected? Do you happen to know what I did to cause such a removal--is there some random button I accidentally hit? Gyregimble (talk) 15:35, 17 November 2019 (UTC)
- I don't know what caused it, but did you perhaps try some editing software or some kind of bot supposed to maintain references? I've seen that some of those can cause unexpected changes.
- As for fixing it, your edit couldn't be undone easily because other editors have edited the same text as you. You could open the "View history" tab, and open the edit before yours (00:42, 16 November 2019 by El C). Then, click "Edit" and make your changes. Go back to the history tab, find the edits by TAnthony and InternetArchiveBot ("prev" links) and apply their changes again. Then everything should be the way you intended. - @DoubleGrazing: Thank you for reviewing and commenting on the new Articles for Creation submission Draft:American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. I did my best to revise the description of the organization in order to highlight the fact that it publishes the most well-respected academic legal journal on the topic of family law in the United States. I also added multiple cites from various third parties referencing the organization and the journal. In addition, I made some minor edits and added an info. box. I hope the changes are sufficient.Gyregimble (talk) 00:24, 15 August 2021 (UTC)
- Hi! The issue here is purely that of notability, which in my view wasn't, and still isn't, met. Please study the notability criteria for organisations, at WP:ORG. Basically, you need to show multiple independent secondary sources discussing this organisation in significant extent and detail. If you feel some of the sources cited already do that, please point them out in case I've missed something. Thanks, --DoubleGrazing (talk) 06:18, 15 August 2021 (UTC)
- @DoubleGrazing:I appreciate the additional insight. Per your recommendation, I reviewed the notability criteria at WP:ORG and added cites to Creighton University, Georgetown Law, Richmond Law, and Wisconsin State to support that the AAML's publications—including a major academic journal and national standards of legal practice—are utilized as a primary resource for the practice of family law in the United States. I also added cites to multiple independent secondary sources discussing the organization in more detail. I hope this helps from a notability perspective.Gyregimble (talk) 15:34, 15 August 2021 (UTC)

- Thank you for your detailed review and helpful comments. Per your recommendation, I added many additional references to "multiple published secondary sources that are reliable, intellectually independent of each other, and independent of the subject." Would you be willing to reconsider the subject as a notable academic under Wikipedia:Notability (academics)? Gyregimble (talk) 20:18, 7 January 2023 (UTC)
- Hi Gyregimble. Well done on the improvements. I'm thinking Miller probably does satisfy Criteria 3, 7 and/or 8. However, the draft was still reading too much like a CV, which Wikipedia is not, so I've edited and trimmed the page and sources to what I feel is more appropriate. The Bibliography is still far too long and I would suggest you trim is to the most notable 5-10 publications. If you're content to do that, please ping me and I'd then be happy to accept the page. Again, good work! Cabrils (talk) 22:00, 10 January 2023 (UTC)

Women in Red 8th Anniversary
editWomen in Red 8th Anniversary | |
In July 2015 around 15.5% of the English Wikipedia's biographies were about women. As of July 2023, 19.61% of the English Wikipedia's biographies are about women. That's a lot of biographies created in the effort to close the gender gap. Happy 8th Anniversary! Join us for some virtual cake and add comments or memories and please keep on editing to close the gap! |
