The messages that Tripple-ddd has been sending me

Here's evidence that I am not this Tripple-ddd individual. If you look at my recent edits, they've been more affiliated with Disney subsidiaries as of late. I didn't know this guy was a genuine problem until I seen his user profile. Iftekharahmed96 (talk) 20:12, 25 July 2017 (UTC)
Sigh, I'm sorry for questioning you, and I'm sorry he's bothering you. Just ignore him. (He may stop now that you've shown me this anyways - he's followed my talk page in the past, so he may see this and know you're not interested in working with him on this. Sergecross73 msg me 20:21, 25 July 2017 (UTC)
FYI, he's probably emailed plenty of other editors. He emailed me the same giant list of changes he wanted making on Sega articles even though I'm the main person who reports his socks. --The1337gamer (talk) 20:23, 25 July 2017 (UTC)
Yeah, I remember another editor we collaborated with in the past, "BusterBlaster" or something like that, complained of emails sent from him as well. I don't think there's anything I can really do about it though, other than document it at his talk page for it to be seen when he tries to get himself unblocked, which people keep doing as a first step anyways... Sergecross73 msg me 20:27, 25 July 2017 (UTC)
For what it's worth I've updated the master account's block to forbid email. -- ferret (talk) 21:47, 25 July 2017 (UTC)

Don't feel bad about it Sergecross, you're just doing your job as a moderator. It's better to be safe than sorry. At the very least, I've found out about being a Proxy, and I'll try not to do something like that again. Iftekharahmed96 (talk) 21:54, 25 July 2017 (UTC)

Vandalism pt 17

Serge's 17th iteration of his own personal WP:AIV and WP:RFPP. Feel free to report anything you see may need intervention. Ferret may also answer queries, as we're both generally pretty active and on the same page when it comes to policy. Sergecross73 msg me 13:46, 22 February 2017 (UTC)

  • Looks like someone got him on a username block before I got the chance to look into it. I imagine that's the end of things right there, but let me know if you see him editing under a new name. Sergecross73 msg me 13:46, 22 February 2017 (UTC)
Done. Let me know if you want it shortened or lengthened. Sergecross73 msg me 16:48, 25 February 2017 (UTC)
  • Protected for 3 days. Just curious - anything in particular spur this? Nothing in the vandalism I spot-checked seemed to be about anything in particular other than vague general insults. Sergecross73 msg me 20:27, 9 March 2017 (UTC)
  • Haha, its fine, just general curiosity, since it wasn't readily apparent from the vandalism itself, and wasn't the type of thing that I had read from more mainstream general news or anything. Sergecross73 msg me 15:49, 31 March 2017 (UTC)
  • I gave him a short block, because his edit summaries don't suggest good-faith editing, but kept it pretty short because the edits could seem plausible if he wasn't being so WP:POINTy, and because he's probably already using multiple IP addresses... Sergecross73 msg me 12:48, 23 March 2017 (UTC)
  • An IP user continuing to add PSN as a platform on the Tomba! article, despite me telling him in the edit summary that it shouldn't be done. Could the page be protected for a few days as a deterrent? ~ Dissident93 (talk) 15:23, 31 March 2017 (UTC)
  • Protected. You've explained yourself fine in edit summaries, but if you could leave a note about your stance on the article talk page, that'd be best. I know he's probably unlikely to engage, but at least it'll show you tried, should this somehow be more drawn out in the future... Sergecross73 msg me 15:31, 31 March 2017 (UTC)
True, I'll go ahead and leave one now, which he is more likely to check now that the page is protected. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 15:36, 31 March 2017 (UTC)
True. Thanks. Sergecross73 msg me 15:49, 31 March 2017 (UTC)
You may have missed this, but it's still happening there and other Kingdom Heart series pages, so the user may need an IP block (it seems to change every day or two). ~ Dissident93 (talk) 00:30, 3 April 2017 (UTC)

Yeah, its obvious POV pushing, but I think a warning is enough for now. Let me know if it keeps happening though. Sergecross73 msg me 17:09, 24 April 2017 (UTC)

Yeah, wow, I don't think I meant to protect it that long. I think that was an accident (that dates back to around when I had first become and admin). I can't believe it hasn't really come up before now either. Yeah, I'll remove it. Sergecross73 msg me 18:41, 1 May 2017 (UTC)

  • The1337gamer - Sorry, didn't mean to ignore this. When I saw this, I was stuck on mobile with bad reception. Then I ended up forgetting it. But in true Tripple-ddd fashion, he stopped as soon as you pointed him out, so it resolve itself it seems. Thanks for helping me keep an eye out. Sergecross73 msg me 13:01, 17 July 2017 (UTC)
It's not people. It's one person that keeps adding it. They are a long term vandal that adds false and unsourced dates to many articles. They are constantly IP hopping and more recently creating accounts User:The1337gamer/sandbox/Andy. Their edits are always reverted and they usually end up blocked. --The1337gamer (talk) 22:31, 21 July 2017 (UTC)

Vandalist user

Hey there Serge. Just wanted to inform you about a vandalist user called Kenricklenno2001. He seems to be adding incorrect tags on Arkanoid vs. Space Invaders on purpose. Iftekharahmed96 (talk) 12:05, 30 July 2017 (UTC)

About the SFV protection

Thanks for page protecting the Street Fighter V page. Even though, when the protection expires, IPs are just going to mess around with the page and disrupt the page even further. With a page like this, I think you might want to make the page protection indefinite. I remember on the Injustice Wikia, there was a guy who was an admin and he kept blanking pages and I asked one of the staff (after he got blocked for two weeks) to block him long-term, a few days later he got blocked for a year. I can definitely relate the SFV page to this issue I had on that said Wikia. It's probably for the best. ULTRA-DARKNESS:) 2 CHAT 19:53, 31 July 2017 (UTC)

UltraDark Thanks for the input, and thanks for requesting the initial protection the other day. I was already contemplating this myself. I was thinking of keeping the 2 week time-frame the other admin implemented as a "trial run" of sorts, to see if the IPs are going to consistently be back or not. If they don't come back, I'll let it expire. If they consistently return, either now, or any time in the future really, I was going to extend it for a long time - like a year or indefinitely or something. Nintendo Account listed at Redirects for discussion

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Nintendo Account. Since you had some involvement with the Nintendo Account redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. Steel1943 (talk) 23:03, 1 August 2017 (UTC)

Looks like its already closed. I'll comment if it gets relisted, though I don't really have strong feelings on it either way. I think its another one of those redirects I created early when it was just a rumored name for something, only to find out that the exact name was something different, so it was never developed in the redirect target or into its own article. Help!

Hi Sergecross73,

I messed up: I tried to move Disney Villains to List of Disney villains, which redirects to Disney Villains, but wrote a typo, List of Disney villians, where it is currently at. I tried to fix it, but I'm afraid I'm only making things worse. I'm also pinging admins @Czar, Salvidrim!, and PresN, hopefully someone can fix my mistake. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 09:53, 1 August 2017 (UTC)

And @Anarchyte is also an admin now of course (congratulations by the way!). soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 09:54, 1 August 2017 (UTC)
@Soetermans: I've moved the incorrectly spelled List of Disney villians to List of Disney villains. Is everything as you originally intended now? Anarchyte (work | talk) 10:33, 1 August 2017 (UTC)
Great, thanks for helping me out! I'll edit the article later. It suggests that the villains of Disney are a separate franchise, but nothing in the references back that up. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 10:40, 1 August 2017 (UTC)
Glad this worked out. Sorry, I would have helped had I been around. Thanks Anarchyte! Sergecross73 msg me 12:27, 1 August 2017 (UTC)
  • Looks like that's where the article used to be held (was moved from "List of" location in 2008). For the future, if an uncontroversial move is blocked by a page with insignificant edit history, you can have the page deleted with {{db-move}} I am no longer watching this page—ping if you'd like a response czar 13:26, 1 August 2017 (UTC)
I've moved the talk page as well to match the correct spelling. Harryboyles 03:56, 5 August 2017 (UTC)

Genre warrior on the loose

This user named Strangeguy91 keeps genre warring, removing sourced info, making articles less neutral, etc. on the grunge, post-grunge, Sixteen Stone, and Razorblade Suitcase articles. I already told him he's engaging in an edit war but he didn't listen. He did add a source for post-grunge on Razorblade Suitcase, but I noticed the source didn't directly call Razorblade Suitcase post-grunge. I told him about that but he didn't listen. He then kept adding the genre without a source that directly calls the album post-grunge and he then keeps genre warring on other articles. I noticed that genre warring seems to be the main type of edits he makes on Wikipedia. I reported the edit war thing but didn't get any responses. Since you're an administrator, can you help so this edit warring/genre warring stops? Thanks. Statik N (talk) 20:31, 5 August 2017 (UTC)

I have blocked him because he's already been warned and blocked due to all his genre edits he's made irrespective of what sources say, but you need to be careful how you handle these situations too. You reverted far more that WP:BRD would allow, and engaged in a lot of similar OR based reasonings in your arguments as well. Sergecross73 msg me 17:35, 6 August 2017 (UTC)

Kellymoat socks

  • Yes, I saw this posted yesterday and had looked at it. Yes, its suspicious that they became active again right after Kellmoat was blocked. But I don't know if that's enough evidence in of itself. Is there anything else linking these accounts? Sergecross73 msg me 13:18, 25 July 2017 (UTC)
  • Yes, it seems to be some crazed block evasion and revert war frenzy between Kellymoat and MariaHickey or whoever it is. All parties likely deserve to be blocked, thought like usual, everyone involved only has vague accusations and hints like this. Sergecross73 msg me 14:01, 25 July 2017 (UTC)
The IP above is certainly MariaJaydHicky, so I've blocked it. —DoRD (talk) 14:12, 25 July 2017 (UTC)

Hi, I have reason to suspect that User:Tangojaded is Kellymoat's sock puppet, and I figured I'd check what you think, Sergecross73 before opening an SPI. In the few days since Tangojaded's account was created, their 44 edits have been on 20 articles Kellymoat has edited previously: [1]. Further, on Rock the House (Gorillaz song) Tangojaded has repeatedly been making the same reversions: [2] [3] Kellymoat was repeatedly making earlier this month: [4] [5]. Tangojaded has also made the same reversion as Kellymoat on Black Dollar: [6] [7] [8].

This duck is quacking, right? Cjhard (talk) 02:56, 28 July 2017 (UTC)

Cjhard - thank you for reporting on this. As you saw, they were all Kellymoat. Now that Kellymoat is indef blocked, and has a history for sloppy block evading, I'll just do the blocking myself on more obvious cases. Feel free to keep reporting them to me, as SPI can often take forever with its backlog. Sergecross73 msg me 12:46, 29 July 2017 (UTC)
No worries. I've reported User:Theidolsclose to SPI as a possible sock puppet earlier today. I'll report them to you from now on. Thank you for your dealing with this. Cjhard (talk) 13:12, 29 July 2017 (UTC)
One of them has managed to slip through the cracks, SummerPhDv2.0 as you suspected on Moat's talk page. 05:14, 31 July 2017 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.132.226.129 (talk)
Are you suggesting that SummerPhD2 is a Kellymoat sock? Because that's impossible. SummerPhD2 has been an editor for like 11 years. I've interacted with Summer before. Definitely a different person. Sergecross73 msg me 12:27, 31 July 2017 (UTC)
More than likely a sleeper sock; I do believe the original Summer was a different editor who left and this one opened their first account prior to all the mess by Kellymoat, they both share that arrogant and imitating trait that KM has. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.132.223.74 (talk) 12:32, 31 July 2017 (UTC)
SummerPhD confirmed their identity a year ago here. -- ferret (talk) 12:36, 31 July 2017 (UTC)
Thanks, I hadn't seen that. I had just assumed it was a legit second account because it's been around for months and is very active in the community - if it was illegitimate, it would have been caught and blocked by now. Sergecross73 msg me 12:40, 31 July 2017 (UTC)
Doesn't explain that they both are hostile to users and both add incorrect sources — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.132.223.74 (talk) 12:45, 31 July 2017 (UTC)
Sadly, that doesn't narrow things down as much as it should - that description still applies to a lot more Wikipedians than just those two. There were far more similarities between Kellymoat and the rest of his confirmed sockpuppets. (I'd go into them, but I don't particularly think that's a good idea. Teaching how to spot sockpuppets is also essentially giving a "how not to get caught sockpuppeting" lesson inadvertently.) Sergecross73 msg me 12:51, 31 July 2017 (UTC)

IP editor - stop wasting my time with flippant accusations. I've been dealing with socks long enough to know that people like Ss112 or SummerPhd are not Kellymoat socks. If you are MariaJay whatever, I'm not here to aid your quest to cause trouble. I wish both you and Kellymoat would take your childish feuding elsewhere. You both waste a lot of time of good volunteers who are dedicating their own free time to a good cause - writing an encyclopedia. You should both be ashamed. Advice on Pied Piper

Hi there. Having recently created an article for Xenosaga: Pied Piper, I wanted an opinion on its future. What is there is the complete total of all information I was able to find on its development and release. Nothing exists telling who worked on it, how it was received, or exactly when it was taken down. I don't know how much further it can be taken as an article. I know the article for Radical Dreamers exists as an FA with nothing on its reception, but I'm still uncertain. Opinions? --ProtoDrake (talk) 13:43, 11 August 2017 (UTC)

Yeah, quite frankly, I was surprised you were able to write as much information about it as you did. It think it looks great, and it should definitely stay as a stand-alone article, for sure. As far as the GA/FA route, that could be much more of a challenge though - Radical Dreamers may not be the best standard to aspire to. With the Chrono articles in general, they're good, but they're probably not actually 2017-grade GA/FAs, they're more like that 2007-grade FA type, you know? I'm not sure they'd hold up to current standards. That's just my two cents though - you've done some incredible work on some JRPG articles that totally exceeded what I thought possible, so don't let me discourage your or anything. Sergecross73 msg me 14:25, 11 August 2017 (UTC)

Hey - you gave a final warning to this guy on July 30 for general dumbstupidness. He was reported to AIV today but he's a little stale for that, having not edited in the last 15 or so hours. If he were active now I'd block, maybe even as a NOTHERE, but since he is stale and you're somewhat familiar with him, I'll leave it in your capable hands. ;-) Katietalk 18:15, 13 August 2017 (UTC)

Apologies, I had limited access recently, so its even more stale now. I'll talk with the user further though. Thanks. Sergecross73 msg me 12:46, 15 August 2017 (UTC)
