Hey BrothaTimothy, check this IMDb site out!

Best, --Discographer (talk) 20:44, 5 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I know what you mean about not including it in the aricle, kind of like when we included Blondie: The Florence Ballard Story in her article, and no movie on that ever did get made! Also, both of these films had original casted leads who both dropped out. Best, --Discographer (talk) 20:59, 5 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Best, --Discographer (talk) 00:12, 6 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The information I gave for the album was correct, otherwise I wouldn't have put it. He did have seven number ones for that album. Five in the US, two in other countries. If you want to find out for yourself, check out MJ's singles charts to find out for yourself.Stco23 (talk) 18:00, 18 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind, I checked to see why you changed it. I guess it's fine. The reason for that was I changed it from six to seven because somebody put six and that person could have done it because he/she saw a number one for one of the songs in another country and decided to change it as a result.Stco23 (talk) 18:06, 18 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:The Moonglows.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:The Moonglows.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 12:26, 23 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:The Moonglows.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. WikiProject:Motown

[edit]

Hey BrothaTimothy, I agree. The other day, WikiProject The Supremes was tagged as being "inactive". I thought, "that's okay, why not just have a Motown WikiProject which would cover not just only one artist, but all of them!" This way, the Motown WP will have an ongoing lifespan since it could also deal with not only its artists (The Supremes, Four Tops, Vandellas, Miracles, Marvin Gaye, etc.), but also its record labels (Motown, Gordy, Tamla, etc.), families (Gordy, Gaye, Jackson, DeBarge, etc.), and other things of that sort (writers, producers, backups, production, companies, etc.) which are all connected to each other under the Motown umbrella. We could dissolve the Supremes WikiProject if we must, and "merge" it into WP Motown, and anything else out there that might be Motown related, and not just focus on individuals, but the entire Motown genre itself! We could have all of that under one wiki-project! The Motown WikiProject sounds like a great idea! Is that ambitious or what! Best, --Discographer (talk) 20:20, 20 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Can you please mentor me... LOL

Proposed deletion of I'm Crazy 'Bout My Baby

No references, no claim of notability for this b-side, fails WP:NSONG and WP:GNG.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. From my search I guess a possible candidate is:

The article history says that you inserted that reference. Do you have the title/author/year (or ISBN)?

Oh man, I totally forgot about it. I'll try to see what I can do. Are they threatening to delete it anytime soon? BrothaTimothy (talk · contribs) 19:01, 10 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Yes one user trying hard to get its deleted.can i u please mail me ur email or fb? Akhiljaxxn (talk) 01:07, 11 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Nah, I'm here. But it would be funny if I'm the only one doing anything since it don't seem like a lot of people are discussing it on the talk page? Also I doubt one person wanting to delete it will make Wikipedia automatically do that? BrothaTimothy (talk · contribs) 03:32, 11 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Nah but can u fix the typos grammer and remove the so called fancruft from it please?. Akhiljaxxn (talk) 11:13, 11 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I'll do that later. That article definitely needs a makeover though. BrothaTimothy (talk · contribs) 17:54, 11 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Well hope u will do before it too late.i'm really sorry if i'm bothering u.i think u r the only user stil active who participated in mj wiki porject. Akhiljaxxn (talk) 01:10, 12 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Nah it's alright. I'll try to do something about it this weekend or something. BrothaTimothy (talk · contribs) 01:42, 12 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
  • BrothaTimothy, While I am absurdly worried about Akhiljaxxn's competence, I am sure that you can find the problems with this article that its existence is very difficult to justify. It had been copy pasted without prior consensus on the main articles (Michael Jackson, They Don't Care About Us), violating WP:CFORK.
Sources are problematic too, they are nothing more than hysteria over his death (8 years ago), we had same hysteria over the death of Chuck Berry this year. And none of those sources do anything more than cite a few names that are already listed with number of sources on List of artists influenced by Michael Jackson. Only thing we can do now is wait for at least 1 month before redirecting it to the main article (Michael Jackson#Legacy and influence) if there has been no consensus to move content from concerning articles. Excelse (talk) 07:13, 12 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Oh OK, yeah I see what you mean... but maybe the article can be totally rewritten without it being read like a fan blog? BrothaTimothy (talk · contribs) 22:39, 12 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The file File:Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell2.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Decorative use of a non-free screenshot in Marvin Gaye#Initial success. There's nothing specific about this 1967 appearance with Tammi Terrell anywhere in the article and the screenshot itself is not the subject of any sourced critical commentary, so the context required by WP:NFCC#8 for the file's non-free use is lacking. If the performance deserved to be mentioned, then it content about it can be added with a citation to a reliable source, but there's nothing really specific in the article about this screenshot which requires the reader actually see it to understand any related article content.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:23, 6 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your edit to this article, however, I've reverted it as no reason is given for this change, nor references/citations provided to show this is the correct version.

Although I'd assume it's unlikely that this is an example of intentional misinformation vandalism, we do have to err on the side of caution with edits like this. Thank you for your understanding. Ubcule (talk) 12:02, 7 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Mass-editing and alert

[edit]
This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

Please carefully read this information:

A community discussion has authorised the use of general sanctions for pages related to Michael Jackson.
The specific details of these sanctions are described here.

Broadly, general sanctions is a system of conduct regulation designed to minimise disruption in controversial topic areas. This means uninvolved administrators can impose sanctions for edits relating to these topics that do not adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, our standards of behaviour, or relevant policies. Administrators may impose sanctions such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks. An editor can only be sanctioned after he or she has been made aware that general sanctions are in effect. This notification is meant to inform you that sanctions are authorised in these topic areas, which you have been editing. Before continuing to edit pages in these topic areas, please familiarise yourself with the general sanctions system. Don't hesitate to contact me or another editor if you have any questions.

Please don't make edits like you made at List of awards and nominations received by Michael Jackson. Combine your small edits into one edit and always add a concise, appropriate, edit summary. --qedk (t c) 20:35, 15 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article List of cover versions of Donna Summer songs has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Looks non-notable; lists of all songs by an artist that have ever been covered are generally not encyclopedic. Has been in CAT:NN since 2016.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. I noticed that in Template:The Supremes, several of the Supremes' albums are classified as "Other albums" instead of "Studio albums": A Bit of Liverpool, The Supremes Sing Country, Western and Pop, We Remember Sam Cooke, Merry Christmas, The Supremes Sing Rodgers & Hart, and Diana Ross & the Supremes Sing and Perform "Funny Girl". This has been the case, apparently, ever since those albums were added to the template in this edit in 2008, so I'm not going to change it on my own without finding out why. Why are these albums not classified as studio albums, just because they are focused on particular styles or songwriters? They were recorded in the studio. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 21:55, 7 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Okay. I understand that. I respect it. It is. BrothaTimothy (talk · contribs) 18:44, 22 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Adult R&B chart

[edit]

Do not add the Billboard Adult R&B chart if the song appeared on the Hot Hip Hop/R&B Single chart, as per WP:USCHARTS. ResPM (T🔈🎵C) 23:14, 31 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

What's Going On GA

[edit]

Hello! I am not super familiar with the topic, but I have worked with the What's Going On (album) page for a bit and think it is very well done with no noticeable issues (to me at least :P) Have you considered making a good article nomination for it? detriaskies 16:08, 2 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have thought of nominating it to the good article group for a while but I didn't know if there was anyone that would vouch for it lol :) BrothaTimothy (talk · contribs) 17:06, 2 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well I am glad to have inspired you! I just thought it was odd the very first album on WP:ALBUM's goal of getting the Rolling Stone 500 list all to GA/FA wasn't any of these yet.
Although to be fair, there is probably a crazy number of articles on this site that can be at least GA with just a little work. detriaskies 15:21, 3 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
True. I always felt the articles related to the album and its singles needed an overhaul for a long while. BrothaTimothy (talk · contribs) 19:05, 3 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
