Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Meaning
[edit]
- The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
- The result of the discussion was delete. Even one of the "keep" !voters wants the redirect at the lowercase 'm', meaning this redirect doesn't even work for them. -- Tavix (talk) 17:32, 26 June 2017 (UTC)
- Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Meaning → Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
Redundant. If someone wants the meaning, they don't need to put "meaning" in too, the title is enough. AmaryllisGardener talk 22:21, 10 June 2017 (UTC)
- Delete per nom. Someone typing that won't append "meaning" to it and expect something different. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 05:07, 11 June 2017 (UTC)
- Keep - It is harmless. Although I would move to a lowercase 'M'. - Richard Cavell (talk) 09:19, 11 June 2017 (UTC)
- Refine to Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious#Origin and meaning where someone wanting to know the meaning of the word will find exactly what they are looking for. Thryduulf (talk) 12:19, 11 June 2017 (UTC)
- But this is like the first section in the article. There's no value to have "Meaning", "Song" and other modifiers if they all redirect to the same article. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 19:17, 12 June 2017 (UTC)
- We can't expect someone to know what order our articles are in any more than we can expect them to know that we cover the meaning of the word in the same article that we cover the song - especially as the meaning section notes the word predates the song. Thryduulf (talk) 11:44, 13 June 2017 (UTC)
- But this is like the first section in the article. There's no value to have "Meaning", "Song" and other modifiers if they all redirect to the same article. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 19:17, 12 June 2017 (UTC)
- Weak delete. Redirects like this make sense for synonyms of the target or for sections of articles that could be construed as topics of their own (and thus potentially eligible for having a separate article). This redirect is neither of these, it's just one among many ways of "asking a question" about the target. If not useful, the redirect is at least totally harmless, hence "weak". – Uanfala 10:00, 21 June 2017 (UTC)
- Delete - All articles on words and phrases could be followed by "meaning". The mis-capitalization puts me at a firm delete on this one. — Godsy (TALKCONT) 17:12, 26 June 2017 (UTC)

- The result of the discussion was speedy delete per WP:CSD#G6 - page created in error. Thryduulf (talk) 01:31, 11 June 2017 (UTC)
- Smolfeministpup/sandbox → SayHerName (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
Delete. Article namespace redirect that looks like a user namespace redirect, but is not. UnitedStatesian (talk) 21:16, 10 June 2017 (UTC)
- The article was drafted in userspace at user:Smolfeministpup/sandbox. When it was complete it was moved to this title, and then a few minutes later to the intended title. Thryduulf (talk) 01:31, 11 June 2017 (UTC)

Delete. Does not appear in target article. Did not appear in the target article until the editor below added it (without reference) while the deletion discussion was going on.UnitedStatesian (talk) 12:17, 10 June 2017 (UTC)
- Keep – It was used as a hashtag for Piggate [1]. Tanbircdq (talk) 12:31, 10 June 2017 (UTC)
- Conditional delete please find another source besides a random tweeter using that particular tag. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 19:39, 10 June 2017 (UTC)
- Delete - This just seems like a bit of nonsensical trivia to me. CoffeeWithMarkets (talk) 08:08, 19 June 2017 (UTC)
- Keep due to it being mentioned and sourced in the article. -- Tavix (talk) 16:26, 20 June 2017 (UTC)
- Keep as it's mentioned in the target article. It has been mentioned for two weeks now, so it looks like the addition has stuck. – Uanfala 10:01, 25 June 2017 (UTC)
- Keep it is mentioned and backed up by a reference in the article. No prejudice to revisiting this if that ever ceases to be the case. — Godsy (TALKCONT) 17:05, 26 June 2017 (UTC)

- The result of the discussion was keep. (non-admin closure) Anarchyte (work | talk) 15:00, 17 June 2017 (UTC)
- Special.T → List of Nestlé brands (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
Delete. Does not appear in the target article, or in Nestlé. UnitedStatesian (talk) 11:51, 10 June 2017 (UTC)
Redirect to Nestlé. The product and its parent company are large enough that someone will probably search for this, but notability of the product is not established. Note that this product is not sold in English-speaking countries. - Richard Cavell (talk) 13:20, 10 June 2017 (UTC)- Keep Added to list with secondary source coverage from Reuters, New York Times, and Design Week. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 19:42, 10 June 2017 (UTC)
- Keep - AngusWOOF has fixed this problem in a way that is acceptable. (It's not necessarily the only correct way for us to treat this subject, and I don't want to dissuade anyone from writing an article about Special.T if they can establish notability). - Richard Cavell (talk) 09:21, 11 June 2017 (UTC)
- For appearance purposes, the references to the news articles can be moved to an embedded note or simplified to one reference, AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 15:09, 11 June 2017 (UTC)

- Smart Mobs:The Next Social Revolution → Smart Mobs (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
Delete. Unlikely a user would omit the space between the title and subtitle (note there also exists Smart Mobs: The Next Social Revolution, which is of course fine per WP:SUBTITLE) UnitedStatesian (talk) 05:05, 10 June 2017 (UTC)

- Souther States → Southern States (talk · links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
Delete. I think it very unlikely a user would leave off the "n". UnitedStatesian (talk) 05:01, 10 June 2017 (UTC)
Keep this redirect is used about once a month, according to the stats. All the best: Rich Farmbrough, 11:49, 10 June 2017 (UTC).
- You can find this typo widely on the Internet, but even in books.[2] All the best: Rich Farmbrough, 11:54, 10 June 2017 (UTC).
- Keep - "Souther" is a legitimate word; see wiktionary. If someone searches for the resulting phrase "Souther states", it's not completely clear what they're searching for, but our "Southern states" article is the best answer that we can give them. - Richard Cavell (talk) 12:04, 10 June 2017 (UTC)
- Keep and tag as typo. AngusWOOF (bark • sniff) 19:44, 10 June 2017 (UTC)
