Discussion on Development Strategy of STEAM Education and Information Integration

Abstract

STEAM education is an interdisciplinary approach of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics that has been proven to foster comprehensive talents with innovative qualities in practice. Promoting STEAM education in higher education helps improve education quality and teaching effectiveness. Therefore, this paper puts forward development strategies of STEAM education and information integration including strengthening government support, integrating curriculum system, innovating teaching methods and optimizing educational environment on the basis of describing its connotation and characteristics and drawing lessons from successful experience abroad, which is government and social support, comprehensive curriculum resources, changing teaching methods and matching teacher quality.
