An Improved Meshless Method in Virtual Surgery Simulation

Published: 30 August 2014 Publication History

Abstract

This paper presents an improved mesh less model for surgery simulation of soft tissue deformation. The model is based on the particle integration of element-free Gale kin method using total Lagrange formulation and moving least square approximation. Boundary condition is imposed by introducing penalty function method into Gale kin weak-form. The improved mesh less method in deformation simulation of liver tissues shows its stability and reliability, and avoids the problems such as grid twisting and volumetric locking in mesh method, and also overcomes the big errors during the large deformation. This effective simulation provides a new idea and research direction for the application of mesh less method in virtual surgery.
