50 Years of Quantum Chromodynamics / Gross, Franz (Jefferson Lab ; William-Mary Coll.) ; Klempt, Eberhard (Bonn U., HISKP) ; Brodsky, Stanley J. (SLAC) ; Buras, Andrzej J. (TUM-IAS, Munich) ; Burkert, Volker D. (Jefferson Lab) ; Heinrich, Gudrun (KIT, Karlsruhe, TP) ; Jakobs, Karl (Freiburg U.) ; Meyer, Curtis A. This paper presents a comprehensive review of both the theory and experimental successes of Quantum Chromodynamics, starting with its emergence as a well defined theory in 1972-73 and following developments and results up to the present day. Topics include a review of the earliest theoretical and experimental foundations; the fundamental constants of QCD; an introductory discussion of lattice QCD, the only known method for obtaining exact predictions from QCD; methods for approximating QCD, with special focus on effective field theories; QCD under extreme conditions; measurements and predictions of meson and baryon states; a special discussion of the structure of the nucleon; techniques for study of QCD at high energy, including treatment of jets and showers; measurements at colliders; weak decays and quark mixing; and a section on the future, which discusses new experimental facilities or upgrades currently funded. Final state interactions in single- and multi-particle inclusive cross sections for hadronic collisions / Mitov, Alexander (CERN) ; Sterman, George (SUNY, Stony Brook)
We study the role of low momentum transfer (soft) interactions between high-transverse momentum heavy particles and beam remnants (spectators) in hadronic collisions. Such final-state interactions are power suppressed for single-particle inclusive cross sections whenever that particle is accompanied by a recoiling high-p_T partner whose momentum is not fixed. Three-particle templates for boosted Higgs / Almeida, Leandro G (IPhT, Saclay) ; Erdoğan, Ozan (YITP, Stony Brook) ; Juknevich, José (Weizmann Inst.) ; Lee, Seung J (KAIST, Taejon) ; Perez, Gilad (Weizmann Inst. ; CERN) ; Sterman, George (YITP, Stony Brook)
We explore the ability of three-particle templates to distinguish color neutral objects from QCD background. This method is particularly useful to identify the standard model Higgs, as well as other massive neutral particles. [...]

Dilepton production near partonic threshold in transversely polarized proton-antiproton collisions / Shimizu, Hirotaka ; Sterman, George (PH-EP) ; Vogelsang, Werner (PH-TH) ; Yokoya, Hiroshi (CERN)
It has recently been suggested that collisions of transversely polarized protons and antiprotons at the GSI could be used to determine the nucleon's transversity densities from measurements of the double-spin asymmetry for the Drell-Yan process. We analyze the role of higher-order perturbative QCD corrections in this kinematic regime, in terms of the available fixed-order contributions as well as of all-order soft-gluon resummations. [...]

The resummed Higgs boson transverse momentum distribution at the LHC / Kulesza, A (Karlsruhe U.) ; Sterman, G (YITP, Stony Brook) ; Vogelsang, W (RIKEN BNL)
We apply QCD resummation techniques to study the transverse momentum distribution of Higgs bosons produced via gluon-gluon fusion at the LHC. In particular we focus on the joint resummation formalism which resums both threshold and transverse momentum corrections simultaneously. [...]
