Trivia
- Avery and Klara are the only Trainers based off rivals not playable in the core series to lack the "Rival" theme skill.
- All versions of Avery use special voice-over lines upon entering a team that contains certain Trainers (regardless of their partner Pokémon) and victory with them. Those Trainers include Gloria, Victor, and Klara.
Origin
Avery's design is based on his appearance in The Isle of Armor expansion in Pokémon Shield. Galarian Slowking is Avery's signature Pokémon as a Gym Leader in the core series games, where it is also capable of Dynamaxing. Slowking's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Sword.
