User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:93.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/93.0

Steps to reproduce:

I have WebGL disabled in about:config (webgl.disabled [true]), and attempt to log in to any site using hCaptcha for verification.

Actual results:

The captcha displays a green check mark, meaning it was solved sucessfully, but the site will not allow you to log in. The two do not appear to be communicating correctly in 93.0 with WebGL disabled.

Expected results:

The sites should allow you to log in. Enabling WebGL allows this to happen. In 92.x and below, using the exact same setup, this still works without issue. That means something was changed in Firefox, starting with 93.0, that is causing this.

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Canvas: WebGL' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please revert this change in case you think the bot is wrong.

It is possible that hCaptcha requires WebGL to function properly and without it, you may encounter difficulties logging into websites that use it for verification. This is because WebGL provides the necessary graphics rendering capabilities required by hCaptcha to display and process the visual challenges presented during the verification process.

For example (https://prosecurityguardcalifornia.com/), it appears to use hCaptcha for its contact form. If you are having trouble accessing the website or logging in due to WebGL being disabled, you may need to enable it in your browser settings or use a different browser that supports WebGL.

Alternatively, you may try contacting the website's administrator or support team to see if there are any other options for verification that do not require WebGL.

Clear a needinfo that is pending on an inactive user.

Inactive users most likely will not respond; if the missing information is essential and cannot be collected another way, the bug maybe should be closed as INCOMPLETE.
