This 1985 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa was modified with Flachbau-style bodywork, wider rear fenders, and a 3.6-liter flat-six before it was acquired by the seller in January 2020. Work completed under current ownership has involved repainting the body in black, replacing various suspension bushings, and installing staggered-diameter Fuchs-style alloy wheels along with an Alpine CD stereo wired to Focal speakers. Additional equipment includes a five-speed manual transaxle, black leather upholstery with purple plaid cloth inserts, Bilstein shocks, a rear spoiler, a canvas Targa top, fog lights, and power windows. This modified 911 Targa is now offered with a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The car was modified with steel Flachbau-style bodywork and wider steel rear fenders with vents before it was acquired by the seller and refinished in black. Exterior details include a tea-tray rear spoiler, Turbo badging, pop-up headlights, a canvas Targa top, fog lights, and dual exhaust outlets. The Carfax report notes an accident resulting in “moderate damage” to the rear of the vehicle on a September 2001 entry. Detailed photos highlighting paint and trim imperfections are provided in the gallery.
The 18″ and 19″ Fuchs-style alloy wheels with gray centers and polished lips were mounted with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires and installed in March 2022. The car is equipped with Bilstein shocks, and braking is handled by four-wheel discs with red-painted calipers and cross-drilled rotors. The seller notes the steering, control arm, and suspension bushings were replaced in October 2020.
The cabin features front seats upholstered in black leather with purple plaid cloth inserts and Porsche crests on each headrest. Amenities include a power-adjustable driver’s seat, split-folding rear seats, and power windows. A Rennline Quickshift short shifter was installed under current ownership along with an Alpine CD stereo with Bluetooth connectivity and Focal speakers. The driver’s door lock is loose, and the blower motor does not function.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a central tachometer with a 6,800-rpm redline as well as a 180-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges for oil level, oil pressure, oil temperature, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 123 miles, and the seller notes approximately 2k miles have been added during their ownership. The Carfax report lists mileage inconsistencies in January 2020 and December 2021. Total mileage is unknown.
The 3.6-liter flat-six was reportedly sourced from a Porsche 993 and installed under prior ownership. The oil was changed and the air filter was replaced in December 2023.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle.
The Carfax report shows the aforementioned damage as well as mileage inconsistencies on the January 2020 and December 2021 entries.
