The king was deeply saddened, yet because of his oaths and his guests he was reluctant to refuse her. So without delay the king sent a soldier and ordered him to bring John's head. The soldier went and beheaded him in prison. Then he brought John's head on a platter and gave it to the girl, and the girl gave it to her mother. When John's disciples heard about this, they came and carried off his body and laid it in a tomb.
While they were listening to these things, they became more and more furious and began to grind their teeth at him.

Do not pay anyone back evil for evil, but focus your thoughts on what is right in the sight of all people.
Make sure that no one pays back evil for evil. Instead, always pursue what is good for each other and for everyone else.
This is, in fact, what you were called to do, because: The Messiah also suffered for you and left an example for you to follow in his steps. "He never sinned, and he never told a lie." When he was insulted, he did not retaliate. When he suffered, he did not threaten. It was his habit to commit the matter to the one who judges fairly.
Do not pay others back evil for evil or insult for insult. Instead, keep blessing them, because you were called to inherit a blessing.
