Nina Gershon (b. 1940) is a federal judge for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. She joined the court in 1996 after an appointment from Bill Clinton. She assumed senior status on October 15, 2008.[1]

Education

Born in Chicago, Illinois, Gershon received a bachelor's degree from Cornell University in 1962 and an LL.B., from Yale Law School in 1965.[1]

Judicial career

Eastern District of New York

Gershon was nominated to the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York by President Bill Clinton on October 18, 1995, to a seat vacated by Leonard Wexler. Gershon was confirmed by the Senate on July 30, 1996, and received commission on August 1, 1996. She assumed senior status on October 16, 2008.[2] He was succeeded to this post by William Kuntz.

Southern District of New York, Magistrate

Gershon was a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York from 1976 to 1996.[1]
