Biography
Keith Murphy earned a B.A. in political science from the University of Baltimore and an M.A. in city planning from the University of Maryland.[1]

2014
Elections for the New Hampshire House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on September 9, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 13, 2014. Three candidates were unopposed in the Democratic primary, while twelve candidates faced off in the Republican primary.[6] The general election was contested by three Democrats and six Republicans. The Democrats were Jerry Hanauer, Brendon Browne, and Jeremy Dupuis. The Republicans participants were Bart Fromuth, Terry Wolf, Linda Gould, Ken Peterson, and incumbents Keith Murphy and David Danielson. All six Republicans were victorious over the Democrats in the general election.[7]

Noteworthy events
Acquittal on assault, threatening charges (2023-2024)
On June 19, 2023, Sen. Murphy was charged with two misdemeanor counts of simple assault and one misdemeanor count of criminal threatening following an April 2023 incident involving an employee at a restaurant Murphy owns in Manchester, New Hampshire. [13]
“I am innocent of these charges and I look forward to my day in court. When the facts are known it will be clear that the police have charged the victim in this case. I will be defending my name, reputation, and business through the legal process,” Murphy said on June 19, 2023 in a statement posted to his personal Facebook page. [14]
In August 2023, Sen. Murphy plead not guilty to the charges. [15]
On January 18, 2024, Murphy was acquitted on all three misdemeanor charges in a Manchester Circuit Court. [16]
