Dan Gehlbach is a conservative Republican running for Iowa House District 46. Dan is a proven leader with a track record of conservative voting while serving on the Waukee School Board. He is a former internal auditor that has worked both on the provider side and insurance side of healthcare. Dan owns and operates a successful small business, has taught high school overseas, and knows public school funding and finances. Dan is a native or Polk County Urbandale and has lived in Dallas County Urbandale for the past 16 years with his wife Staci and their 2 school aged daughters.

  • Lowering and flattening tax rates - Iowa needs to be able to attract talent to the state. New and native Iowans (like me) need to be able to come home to start families and businesses. This begins with lower and competitive state taxes and returning unused revenue back to hard working Iowans.
  • School choice for all Iowans - Parents deserve to have a voice in their children’s education. After observing the Waukee School District as a board member for the last two years, I know Iowa needs to support school choice so all Iowa families can make the best education decision for their children.
  • Protecting individual freedoms - No government should be mandating what we put in our bodies or what we wear on our faces. I will fight to protect our God given rights. This includes protecting the rights of the unborn. The Constitution doesn’t grant us freedoms; it prohibits government from taking them.

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Iowa

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
