Gary Chism
Gary Chism (Republican Party) was a member of the Mississippi House of Representatives, representing District 37. Chism assumed office in 2000. Chism left office on June 30, 2020.
Chism (Republican Party) ran for re-election to the Mississippi House of Representatives to represent District 37. Chism won in the general election on November 5, 2019.
He was first elected to the chamber in 1999. Chism resigned from the legislature on June 30, 2020.[1]
Biography
Chism's professional experience includes working as an independent insurance agent and co-owner of Columbus Insurance Services Incorporated, an agent for the Liberty National Life Insurance Company, and Brakeman with the Gulf, Mobile and Ohio Railroad Railroad. He served in the Mississippi National Guard from 1969 to 1979.[2]

Elections for the Mississippi House of Representatives took place in 2015. A primary election was held on August 4, 2015. The general election took place on November 3, 2015. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 27, 2015.[3] No Democratic candidates filed for election. Incumbent Gary Chism was unopposed in the Republican primary. Chism ran unchallenged in the District 37 general election.
2011
On November 8, 2011, Chism won re-election to District 37 of the Mississippi House of Representatives. He ran unopposed in the August 2 primary and was unchallenged in the November 8 general election.[4][5]
2007
On November 6, 2007, Gary Chism was re-elected in District 37. He defeated Democratic challenger J.C. Patton in the general election.[6]
