The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 27, 2015.[1] Billy Joe Ladner was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Incumbent Timmy Ladner was unopposed in the Republican primary. Timmy Ladner defeated Billy Joe Ladner in the general election.

On November 8, 2011, Ladner won election to District 93 of the Mississippi House of Representatives. He defeated Kent Alexander in the August 2 primary and defeated Democratic incumbent Dirk Dedeaux in the November 8 general election.[2][3]
