|I am the proud daughter of a Senegalese immigrant and a 2nd generation Dutch American. They raised me and my sister while running a small cleaning business and teaching in the public schools. Growing up, I saw first hand the barriers my mother endured as a small business owner and the challenges my father faced just to get the resources he needed to educate his students. As a political and labor organizer, I fought against the rise of Trumpism and white nationalism by working to elect progressive candidates across the state. As the Equity Manager at the City of St. Paul, I fought to eliminate racial disparities by leading and developing our equity policies and programs. As Chair of the Roseville Area Schools Foundation, I fight for my alma mater and the disinvestments we see in our public schools by fundraising thousands annually to address critical unmet needs for our students and families. And, as a Black woman, I am in the fight for Black lives every day- both professionally and personally. I plan to bring my skills, lived experiences and that fight to the Minnesota Senate. I am running to advance racial justice and build a community that’s safe for all.
- Public Servant
- Political and Labor Organizer
- Fighter for Justice
I am running to build a community that is safe for all. I will bring bold leadership in the Minnesota Senate that puts the fight for racial justice and human dignity at the center of everything we do. Three areas that I want to ensure we fight for in the legislature are:
Community Safety - In the legislature, I will fight for policies that take a holistic approach to public safety, hold police accountable for misconduct, and ensure solutions are community-centered.
Healthcare- State legislatures across the country are taking steps to pass laws that roll back our reproductive rights. I will fight hard in the Minnesota Senate to ensure that healthcare is accessible to all.
Education- As the daughter of a retired public school teacher, I saw how much my dad loved being an educator and helping mold the next generation of leaders. I will fight to ensure that our public schools are fully funded and work to close the gaps that are a disservice to the success of our state.

Scorecards
A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.
Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
