Todd Huston (Republican Party) is a member of the Indiana House of Representatives, representing District 37. He assumed office on November 7, 2012. His current term ends on November 4, 2026.
Huston (Republican Party) ran for re-election to the Indiana House of Representatives to represent District 37. He won in the general election on November 5, 2024.
Huston was elected as speaker of the House in March 2020. He replaced former speaker Brian Bosma (R), who stepped down from the role at the end of the 2020 legislative session.[1]
Huston earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Indiana University.[2] Hutson worked as a senior vice president at The College Board, a nonprofit that creates standardized tests, from October 2012 to February 2022.[3][4] Before serving in the legislature, he served on the Hamilton Southeastern School Board and the Indiana State Board of Education.[2]
Huston was first elected to the chamber in 2012. He faced Democratic opposition in 2016 (won 64%-36%), 2018 (won 54%-46%), and 2020 (won 56%-44%). He was unopposed in 2014, 2022, and 2024.
Huston's office biography said he created the 2021 Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative, a "$500 million investment to promote community collaboration and growth." In 2023, the legislature approved an additional $500 million in funding. His biography also highlighted tax policy passed by the legislature, specifically a $1 billion tax reduction package in 2022 and a $430 million tax reduction in the 2023 session that the biography said would result in one of the lowest tax rates in the nation by 2027.[2]
Biography
Huston's professional experience includes serving as the senior vice president for state and district partnerships at the College Board. He has also served on the Hamilton Southeastern School Board, Hamilton Southeastern Schools Foundation Board, Fishers Planning Commission, and Indiana Leadership Forum Board of Directors.
Huston earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Indiana University.[5]
