Chapter Text
She can’t help the instinctive flinch from dropping the glass. It’s twofold, in actuality, but she would like to pretend (as the armadura wraps around her protectively) it’s only from being startled.
Bari pokes her head in, notices what happened, and immediately comes over to pick her up. Sancho lets out a sound in protest, but quickly accepts being held – the puddle of water is expanding, and she wasn’t wearing shoes, so if Bari hadn’t grabbed her when she did her socks would’ve gotten wet, and that would have been awful.
“Barrriiiii,” She whines, and at that she realizes she’s gone under (against her will, she’d argue, but the way the armadura has relaxed and wrapped itself around Bari as well proves otherwise). A small purr makes its way from her chest as Bari shifts to hold her against her hip.
“That better?” comes the reply, and Sancho buries her head in Bari’s shoulder, much to the amusement of the other woman. Bari raises a hand into Sancho’s hair, and Sancho grumbles as she purrs in earnest.
“Mmmnnoooo,” Sancho whines, embarrassed, “Wanted to do something for you.”
“So that’s why you were grabbing a glass of water in the first place,” Bari puts Sancho on top of the counter, and when Sancho goes to move, she gets a little glare aimed at her. “Stay there, I want to clean up, ok?”
“Okay… ‘m sorry.” Sancho apologizes, “Jus’ wan’ed to be helpful…”
“And you are, dearest, it’s just that I don’t want you getting hurt on the glass.”
“...I’m the one who can regenerate, I should be cleaning up,” Even as Sancho argues her right to clean, she’s trembling at the idea of cleaning up the spilled water.
Bari shakes her head. “You’re shaking at the idea of it, dearest.”
“Am not!” Sancho counters, reflexive, before shrinking back, “...okay.”
Bari chuckles, and finishes with the glass shards before returning to taking care of the water. Sancho wiggles where she’s sat, taking to fidgeting with the armadura. Idly, she clenches and unclenches her toes, though it’s clear its a response to boredom.
Once the floor is clean, Bari picks Sancho back up before wandering to the bed. Sancho lets out an indignant squeak, but picks up with a purr once Bari has wrapped her in her arms, and held her flush to her chest.
