Chapter Text
As it turned out, Tim did end up believing that Kon had to leave for an emergency in Smallville. Or at the very least, he didn’t question him too much about it and told him that he understood. Kon hated lying to him, but a lie was better than the truth in that situation. Besides, it wasn’t like Kon didn’t make promise after promise that he would find a way to make it up to him for having to ditch the gala.
A promise he now had to fulfill.
It had barely been a week since the gala when Tim texted their group chat with Bart and Cassie, inviting them all to the movies with him and Bernard. In Kon’s defense, it did seem like a good idea at the time when he agreed. Bart and Cassie would both be there, so he wouldn’t have to be the awkward third wheel to his crush and his boyfriend. Plus, he had really been excited to see the movie they planned to go watch.
It was going to be fine.
No, really, it was.
The day of, he actually didn’t put too much thought into what his civilian identity should wear, so he just threw on his old Smallville High jersey and tucked it into his black skater skirt and a pair of his sneakers, Then, right before he left, Pa reminded him about his glasses, to which he begrudgingly put on. He never understood how a pair of glasses were supposed to cover up his identity, but he wasn’t going to argue about it. Honestly, he figured it was more of a tradition than anything else anyways.
Even though he didn’t fly there, Kon still somehow ended up being the second to arrive, only bested by Cassie by four minutes.
“There’s my favorite girl!” Kon grinned as he came up to greet her with a hug.
Cassie immediately put her arms around him with a little laugh. “And there’s my second favorite guy.”
“Hey!”
That only made her laugh harder as they broke away from the hug and gave him a playful smack to his shoulder. “Kidding… you’re my third favorite.”
“Hey!” He cried out again and hit her with a mock hurt expression.
All she did was roll her eyes though and shoved his face away with a snort. The two then moved to go sit by the curb outside the theater and talked about nothing while waiting for the others to arrive. Kon had already expected Bart to be late since he typically did that to overcompensate in order to hide his powers, but Tim being late was new.
“What do you think is taking Tim so long?” Cassie asked eventually.
Kon shrugged. “Don’t know. Could be that boyfriend of his making them late.”
Cassie then turned her head at him and he could see poorly concealed worry on her face when he brought up Tim’s boyfriend. He could see that there was something that she was itching to ask him or talk to him about. He had his suspicions on what it was. “Yeah, about that… Tim mentioned that you met Bernard already.”
He nodded. “Yeah, it was a few weeks ago at one of his dad’s galas. Seemed like a nice dude, I guess.”
“You guess?”
He knew exactly what she was trying to do. He already had his suspicions that she knew about Tim’s crush on him after Tim had made that remark about Bart teasing him about it in the past. If Bart knew, that meant Cassie knew. The question now was, did she know about Kon’s crush. The answer could’ve been an easy no seeing as the only person Kon had ever outright told was Jason, but this was Cassie he was talking about. She knew Kon better than he gave her credit for sometimes, especially when it came to some of his feelings. She, admittedly, had a better advantage than most at that seeing as they dated in the past.
He decided not to beat around the bush. “C’mon, what is it that you’re really trying to ask?”
To her credit, Cassie didn’t seem all that taken aback by getting called out. Instead, she seemed to get a bit more serious and leaned against him. “How do you feel about it?”
“I’m happy for him.” He answered, although she didn’t seem all that convinced. “I mean, why wouldn’t I be? He’s one of my best friends.”
“Well, for starters, he told me that you disappeared almost immediately after meeting Bernard. He might’ve bought your excuse, but I don’t.”
That was an opening for him to speak up and he knew it, but instead he stayed quiet and looked up at the clouds in the sky as if they held all the answers.
“Look, Conner, I–”
“Hey, guys! Sorry we’re late.” Tim accidentally interrupted as he walked up to them, snapping both of their attention up at him.
There he was hand in hand with none other than Bernard himself, who looked like he was both nervous and excited as he rocked back and forth on his feet. Kon tried to ignore the sharp twist of jealousy he felt as he stood up with a huge grin plastered on his face.
“Nah, don’t sweat it. We haven’t been waiting long.” He brushed off.
“Speak for yourself,” Cassie spoke up, whacking Kon on his shoulder. “I was the first one here and we’re still having to wait on Bart.” Her attention then turned to Bernard as she was obviously getting a look at him for herself, before she smiled brightly and extended out her hand. “Hi, I’m Cassie. You must be Bernard, right?”
“That’s me. It’s really nice to meet you.” He smiled, shaking her hand twice before dropping it.
While they quickly dissolved into small chitchat, Kon couldn’t help but to second guess himself if coming was the right idea or not. His feelings for Tim were as strong as ever, and now he had to spend the next few hours dealing with seeing him and Bernard together. There was no option for running away up onto the tallest rooftop or sneaking away to go get drunk this time around.
He knew that he was an asshole for feeling the way that he did, but knowing that didn’t make the twist of jealousy he felt subside as Tim’s fingers remained interlocked with Bernard’s.
Thankfully, Bernard had been too wrapped up with his chat with Cassie to have had time to talk to Kon before Bart showed up. Kon had heard him coming, but acted surprised when Bart appeared and jumped up on him while his back was turned. Just to add a bit more realism, Kon pretended to have stumbled slightly and let out an oof while Bart clinged onto his back like a monkey.
“Are you trying to knock me down?” Kon laughed. That was the moment the others noticed and turned to join in on the laughing.
“You’re fine.” Bart said dramatically and continued to stubbornly cling onto him.
Kon mocked annoyance, but didn’t make any attempt to throw Bart off of him. Instead, he held onto his legs and carried him as they all decided to head inside before they missed the movie, only setting him down when they bought snacks and had to carry them.
The movie ended up being far greater than Kon had been expecting. He even was so distracted by it, he hardly noticed the amount of times Bernard kept leaning over to kiss Tim at random parts. Hardly noticed. His super hearing made it a bit difficult to not hear the disgusting sound of their lips meeting for a peck. Though, overall he couldn’t actually complain that it was a terrible time. Especially, when he had his friends, an awesome movie, and even more awesome snacks.
After they all filed out of the theater, all of them agreed that they were hungry– and also because none of them were really ready for the hangout to end just yet– so, that’s how Kon found himself sitting in a booth at the nearest diner with Bart sitting beside him on the inside of the booth, while Tim was wedged between Cassie and Bernard on the other side.
It was actually a nice diner all things considering. It was 50s or 60s style with records hung up on the wall, a jukebox stood on the back wall, and all the workers were in skates, which honestly looked like a ton of fun to Kon. Thankfully, it didn’t take long for the waitress to get to them since it was kind of late, so not many people were out.
“So, what did everyone think of the movie?” Bernard prompted after everyone had made their order.
“I thought it was great.” Tim responded. “It had a lot of really cool action sequences and the camerawork was–”
“Of course you would be focused on the camerawork, you nerd.” Kon snorted, which had all the others laugh as well.
“I’m surprised you actually had time to watch the movie.” Bart chimed in. “Everytime I looked over, you two were locking lips.”
Immediately both Tim’s and Bernard’s face turned red, but while Bernard fell silent, Tim got defensive. “We were not!”
Which prompted a chorus of:
“Yeah, dude, you were.”
“You totally were!”
“Oh yeah, it was disgusting, actually.”
Tim had the most offended expression on his face and very quickly the four of them dissolved into a petty argument while Bernard continued to sip quietly at his drink, offering Tim no ounce of backup.
It was fun, actually. Well, maybe not for Tim, but it definitely was for the rest of them. Kon always thought it was funny how passionate Tim would get during petty arguments, especially when it came to defending himself. He would get a sort of fire in his eye that burned brighter the more passionate he got. It was cute. Adorable, even.
…Why did Kon have to be so stupid and not realize his feelings sooner?
In that moment, Kon quickly lost interest in the banter and leaned back in the booth as he tried to drown out the sound of Bart and Tim’s voice going back and forth.
Great. Just great. He had been fine this whole time, then one sudden intrusive thought had to worm its way in and ruin his whole mood.
Ever since that day at the beach Kon had gone over and over in his head every interaction between the two of them, hoping to find any hint that Tim had given him that he liked him back then. What sign he’d been given but somehow missed. The thing was, he just couldn’t. There were no signs whatsoever. Tim had always acted, well, like Tim. There hadn’t been any specific point where Tim acted weird around him, never once caught him giving heart eyes or anything like that. Then one day he just decided to announce that he had loved him for however long and that it was far too late to do anything about it.
Maybe Kon should’ve spoken up then. Though, would that have changed anything? He still didn’t know how long Tim and Bernard had been together. What if they had already started dating when Tim broke the news to Kon that he no longer loved him? Surely Kon confessing his feelings wouldn’t have done or changed anything. All it would’ve resulted in was confirmation that he was too late. He would always be too late no matter what.
He was broken out of thought when the waitress came back around with their food and placed each of their plates in front of them. Bart almost immediately attacked his fries, putting an end to his and Tim’s silly argument for the moment.
Kon snapped himself out of his little pity party and went to take a bite out of his burger when a loud roar of a motorcycle off in the distance caught his attention. It wasn’t just the motorcycle though, because just behind the sound of the engine was a faintly familiar heartbeat that thrummed in his ears.
The others must’ve noticed his pause, because Tim spoke up. “Conner? What’s wrong?”
He had that hint of Robin in his tone which meant that he probably was worried Kon was hearing some sort of danger, so to ease his worry, Kon just waved it off. “Nothing. Just thought I heard something weird outside. It’s fine.”
Tim didn’t seem convinced and gave Kon a lingering look before begrudgingly going back to his food.
Kon tried to ignore it but it was driving him insane because he could’ve sworn he heard that heartbeat from somewhere, but for the life of him he couldn’t quite place it. The sound then started to get closer and as it did, he picked up a second heartbeat, this one he couldn’t quite place.
He shook his head. It was probably nothing.
He, of course, ended up being wrong. That “nothing” pulled up outside the parking lot of the diner and flung up the doors with a flair.
“Hey Dickie, look,” The voice called out. “Timmy’s here!”
All five of them at the table turned their heads and Tim let out a heated swear underneath his breath as Jason and Dick both entered the diner. They both had shit eating grins on their faces as they approached the table, but Jason stopped almost dead in his tracks when his eyes met Kon’s.
Shit.
They hadn’t seen each other since after the gala, which Kon was perfectly fine with. He figured that it would be a while til their paths would cross again, but apparently a while really meant only a week.
Jason recovered fast and came up to the table the same time as Dick did with his shit eating grin back in its place.
“What a coincidence that we’d find you here.” Dick said innocently as he pulled up a chair from another table and placed it at the end of the booth.
“What are you two doing here?” Tim demanded, clearly irritated.
“What? Is it suddenly a crime for us to go out to eat?” Jason butted in. Then without a word, he sat down on the small available space in the booth, which just so happened to be right next to Kon, forcing him and Bart to move over to give him more room. “Didn’t think you’d invite your friends with you on your little date.”
“This isn’t even a date! We were all wanting to hang out.”
“Ah, so in that case, I’m sure you won’t mind if we hang out with you all too, then.” Dick mused.
Tim looked even more infuriated, meanwhile Bernard looked almost scared shitless. Although, Kon didn’t really know why. Surely, he would have met Dick and Jason already at the gala. Or… well, Dick at least.
Kon tried very hard not to think about why Bernard probably didn’t get a lot of time to meet Jason. Although, it didn’t help at all that Jason was squeezed right beside him in the booth.
Let it be known that Kon was a simple man. A man who also wasn’t fucking blind, too. Jason was one hell of a looker and Kon had personally seen nearly every square inch of the man’s body.
Christ, he desperately needed to get his mind out from the gutter.
“I do mind actually.” Tim retorted, clearly annoyed as the rest of the table pretty much fell silent as the brothers bickered. “Did you two follow me here? Did Bruce send you out to stalk us?”
“Jesus, calm down.” Jason groaned and stretched out his arms, which then came to land across Kon’s shoulder. “You’re being a baby over nothing. I just wanted to come to steal your food. Dick here was the one that wanted to spy on your date.”
“Not a date.”
As Jason and Tim went back and forth with one another, Kon simply continued eating his food while trying to not care or noticed that Jason’s arm was still partly around him. He figured that he would take his arm back once he stretched, or at the very least realized where his arm was but he didn’t. It continued to lay across his shoulders as if nothing. No one else at the table seemed to notice it either, so clearly Kon was just being weird about it. It was fine.
It was not fine.
After a full minute had passed with his arm still rested around his shoulders, Kon finally interrupted their bickering. “So, am I your arm rest now or something?”
That seemed to have snapped everyone’s attention, allowing silence to finally fall over the table. Jason looked at him a bit confused, but then seemed surprised once he realized what Kon was talking about. Though, all he did was move it from where it laid across both shoulders, to now only resting his elbow on the one, then fixed him with a challenging look. “That better for you, princess?”
Kon rolled his eyes with a snort and plopped a fry into his mouth. “Yeah, perfect. Now I get to smell your pits.”
From an outside point of view, it might’ve looked like Kon was purposely taking the heat off of Tim and Bernard by butting in. Which was probably how Tim took it, judging by the way his shoulders seemed to have relaxed. Maybe that was half the reason since Tim looked like he had been half ready to jump across the table, but really, Kon was simply being a shithead because a small part of him wanted to focus on anything other than having to listen to Tim call Bernard his boyfriend for the fiftieth time. Plus, it honestly felt thrilling to have Jason’s attention back on him.
At that Jason actually laughed at the insult and started to say something, before Kon noticed his eyes drifting down and he suddenly stopped. “Are you wearing a skirt?”
Kon couldn’t quite place the tone that he had, but he definitely recognized the look in the other’s eyes when they flicked back up to meet his own.
Ok. Ok, no. He could not flirt with his best friend/sorta still crush’s older brother right in front of him and their friends. So, instead of leaning further into him like he wanted to, he instead just flashed him a grin. “Sure am. Why? You want one?”
“Stop harassing Conner,” Tim snapped, but all Jason did was dismiss him.
“I’m not harassing.” He fired back, defensively. “It’s just the last time I saw you, you were wearing a suit. Didn’t exactly give me the impression that you like to wear… that.”
“Oh? You saw each other at the gala?” Dick finally spoke up, which caused both Jason and Kon to freeze. “I swear you were there for only a second before you ditched.”
Shit.
“Yeah, actually, Kon was only there for what felt like a second too.” Tim chimed in.
Double shit.
A tension passed between him and Jason, before the older man just scoffed and picked off another fry off of Kon’s plate. “Well if it hadn’t been so boring, maybe I wouldn’t have ditched.” Jason replied easily enough. It was actually a good answer and wasn’t even a lie, technically. His demeanor never changed or showed a hint of anxiety, but Kon did hear the way his heart had sped up by a few more extra beats.
Now it was Kon’s turn to defend himself. “And I didn't mean to ditch you, but you know how it is whenever my grandparents need my help. I can't refuse.”
Okay, so that one was a lie. Actually, it was a lie within a lie since he had actually told Tim that it was because of a villain loose in Smallville, but Bernard couldn't know that lie, therefore he had to come up with another lie specifically for Bernard.
Who knew that being able to lie was one of the key parts of being a hero. Go figure.
“I know, I know.” Tim nodded, waving it off.
After that, everything passed by mostly easy. Tim admitted defeat that there was just no getting rid of Jason or Dick, so he stopped trying and went on explaining his favorite parts of the movie with Bart and Bernard chiming in. Jason and Dick would apparently be listening in on the conversation for a bit, before chatting with each other instead. The only two at the table that didn’t talk that much were Kon himself and Cassie.
Cassie would act like she was paying attention to whatever conversation was going on, throwing in an occasional head nod or laugh, but Kon kept catching her staring between him and Jason.
He wasn’t sure what the hell she could’ve been seeing, but it was definitely something. She had that look in her eye like she was trying to solve a puzzle that had no pictures or instructions to them, but was still determined nevertheless. Kon pretended never to notice, since he knew better than to draw any more attention to himself by acting like there was something to hide.
He knew that she couldn’t have known anything that happened between him and Jason. That would literally be impossible since he hadn’t spoken a single word about it to anyone, and he didn’t get the vibe that Jason was one to gossip, either. But even if he did, it wasn’t like it would’ve been to anyone who could’ve repeated it to Cassie.
About fifteen minutes later, Dick suddenly pulled his phone out and frowned as he typed something. “Sorry, guys, as fun as this has been, I have to get back to Bludhaven right now.” He excused himself as he stood up. “Apparently Roy and Lian are both now sick and he demands I come back to baby them both. You need a ride, Jay, or are you staying here?”
Jason frowned with disgust. “What, so that you can get me sick too? Nah, I’m good. Tim can drive me back.”
“Like hell I will!” Tim refused. “Bernard and I have plans after this.”
“Gross.”
“It’s not like that!”
The sound of his voice had gained the attention from everyone else in the diner who either gave them a dirty look or peered over to be nosy. A few of them were muttering to each other, which Kon picked up easily enough to know that what was being said wasn’t great.
“I could drive you wherever you need to go.” Kon suddenly offered, if only to be polite and to avoid disrupting the other patrons of the diner more than they already had.
Tim and Jason both turned to look at him with almost matched expressions of surprise. Dick, though, didn’t hesitate to jump at the opportunity to leave. “Great! That settles it. Bye, guys!” Then, he practically sprinted out of the diner.
Tim and Cassie both gave Kon a suspicious look, while Jason also looked at him with a much different look.
“Conner, seriously, you don’t have to.” Tim piped up again. “He has two perfectly good legs.”
All that earned him though was a fry pelted at his forehead.
Kon just shrugged. “It’s cool. I don’t mind going out of my way. Plus, I’ve been in Gotham plenty enough to know that walking the streets at night isn’t a good idea.”
Five out of six people at the table knew how useless that last reason was, but obviously none of them could point that out. Though, really, he didn’t know why Tim was putting up such a fuss over it anyways.
Jason tossed his arm back around Kon’s shoulder with a shit eating grin directed mainly towards his brother. “Why thank you.”
Tim just groaned and rolled his eyes in response, then returned to the remaining bit of his food.
After that, the table was mostly silent as they all finished up their plates. Then, one by one they all went their separate ways, waving and hugging goodbye before they took off in different directions.
Jason followed alongside Kon as he led the way to where his chevy impala was parked. It had been a gift from Clark for his eighteenth birthday, which had been a gift from Pa for his. It was an old car made in 1967, though the Kent men had all done their time taking great care of it over the years. He could still fondly recall the summer where Pa, Clark, and him had spent the entire day changing all the tires, replacing the engine, and whatever else repair that it needed. That had been a really great day.
Kon got in first and drummed his fingers against the steering wheel as he waited for Jason to get in and shut the door. “Alright, so where am I taking you?”
“Why are you doing this?” Jason asked instead.
Kon snapped his head in his direction with a confused look, and met Jason’s very green eyes looking at him suspiciously.
“What? I’m just trying to be nice and give you a ride so you’re not walking. Is that a crime all of a sudden?”
Jason only continued to stare at him and raised an eyebrow, almost challenging. Kon, unfortunately, knew very well what he was thinking.
“It has nothing to do with that.” He defended, already feeling irritated. “I’m not trying to get back in your pants. If you want to walk or catch a bus, be my guest. Y’know a person can be nice just to be nice.”
Jason only hummed in response, but did slump into his seat and turned to gaze out the window instead. “Just turn left when you pull out from here. I’ll give you the directions on where to go.”
Kon let out a quiet sigh and did just that. The ride had been mostly silent at first as the only time one of them talked was when Jason would tell him to turn or for which lane he needed to be in. Kon was just fine with that. It beat having to talk about that night, or answer any questions about his crush on Tim, because he just knew that Jason was still curious. Bats were nosy like that, even one that claimed he was an outcast of the family.
“I wouldn’t have minded, y’know,” Jason spoke up suddenly and turned from the widow to toss a look at him.
“Minded what?”
“If you only offered to give me a ride because you wanted to sleep with me again.”
They were very fortunate that Kon was such a good driver that he was able to keep his eyes on the road, even when that sentence had taken him completely off guard. “What the hell?” He gasped. “That’s such a sleazy thing to do!”
Jason let out a short laugh and shrugged. “I didn’t say that it wasn’t. I just said I wouldn’t have minded.”
Kon honestly didn’t know how to respond to that, so he didn’t at first. His grip tightened on the wheel and he sat straighter in his seat and chose to focus on the road instead. A million thoughts raced through his mind. Then, finally, he wet his lips and relaxed a little as he gave Jason a lazy grin. “It’s the skirt, isn’t it? It really got you going in there, didn’t it.”
“Maybe.” Jason said vaguely as a smile crept at the corner of his mouth.
“You’re ridiculous.”
The air felt a lot more at ease between them as all the awkward tension evaporated. Kon’s grip on the steering wheel loosened up and he melted a little more into his seat now that the awkwardness had passed. Jason seemed a bit more at ease too, from what he could tell at least.
“Y’know, I keep thinking about that– hand thing that you did.” Jason spoke up again.
“What hand thing?” Kon’s eyebrows furrowed. “You mean a handjob?”
Jason shook his head. “No, not that, idiot. That extra power thing that you have. What did you call it?”
“Oh! Tactile telekinesis. It’s actually really cool. You see, I can–”
“I’m not interested in a breakdown of your telekinesis.” Jason interrupted. Though, he must’ve seen the frown on Kon’s face, because he then sighed and nudged him. “I didn’t mean it like that. It’s just– It’s a nice air of mystery to not know how it works for the next time you use it on me.”
That got Kon sitting straight up as a slight flush dusted his cheeks. “Next time?”
“Could be now, if you wanna turn right into that alley that’s coming up.”
Kon tapped his fingers on the steering wheel once. Twice…
Then turned right into the alley.
How could he say no to an offer like that?
Which was how Kon found himself twenty minutes later laid out in his own backseat with Jason’s hands braced against his chest as he bounced on his cock.
They hadn’t even bothered undressing more than they had to. Jason had practically ripped off his own pants and boxers, not even bothering to verbally communicate which role he was wanting to take, then shoved Kon’s skirt up and tore off the underwear he had on underneath. Then after that, everything just sort of… fell into place and happened.
If you asked him, Kon really wouldn’t know how to even explain how he allowed this to happen a third time. Because, this was the third time, technically speaking. The first time, he could excuse it on the bitter heartbreak and alcohol. The second time, well, that could just be chalked up wanting to get it out of their system before pretending that night never happened. This time, however, he couldn’t come up with an excuse for.
He felt wrong for hooking up with his best friend’s brother. He really, truly did.
“Fuck, that feels so fucking good–” Jason tossed his head back with a moan.
But it was hard to focus on that guilt when he had Jason riding him like the earth was being invaded and moaning like a pornstar in his ear.
The car shook this way and that with the movements of their bodies working together, the windows were long since fogged up, and Kon was certain that they were being loud enough for anyone outside the car to hear them. Not that either of them really cared about that.
It was an awkward fit trying to cramp in the backseat to do this. Neither of them were small guys, but they somehow made it work with a lot of determination and stubbornness. And more than a few loud curses as Jason hit his head repeatedly against the roof, much to Kon’s amusement.
When all the fun was finally over, Jason was the first to move. He pulled off of Kon’s cock and opened up the backdoor so he could get out and started getting dressed again.
Right. Kon forgot that Jason didn’t bother much with the aftercare stuff.
Eh, it was fine.
All Kon had to do was find where his underwear had been tossed and slip it back on, before climbing over the seats back to the front. Less than a minute later, Jason then slipped beside him in the passenger seat, looking like he had either gotten in a really intense fight or, well… y’know.
Silently, Kon turned the car back on and drove out of the alleyway and back onto the street.
The guilt started to sink in almost immediately as Kon was faced, once again, with the realization that, yes, he did just sleep with Tim’s second older brother. Again.
Christ, what was wrong with him?
Tim was his best friend. The two had gone through hell and back together more than just a couple of times. And sure, he had a thing for Tim and had those feelings ultimately crushed, but it wasn’t like it was Tim’s fault that that happened. So, why did he keep going back to Jason like this? He wasn’t doing this as a sort of petty revenge or anything, but at the same time, he also knew that this would hurt Tim, if he ever found out.
“That was probably stupid.” Came out of his mouth suddenly with a miserable mutter.
Jason blew out a half exasperated-half amused sigh. “I don’t know. To me, it looked like you were enjoying yourself pretty okay.”
Kon couldn’t help but to let out a snort. “That’s not actually what I–”
“Yeah, yeah. I know what you meant.” Jason waved off dismissively. “You really have to stop worrying too much. Or if you’re going to insist on doing it, you could at least have the decency to drop me off first.”
“Sue me for being worried what my best friend would think about me sleeping with his brother.”
“Okay, first of all, we’re only brothers on a good day.” He retorted. Kon didn’t even bother arguing how much bullshit he knew that statement was. “And secondly, you’re an adult. Who the fuck cares what you choose to do. Plus, he won’t even find out, unless you plan on telling him.”
Kon sighed. “I don’t but–”
“Then that should be the end of it.” Jason cut him off again. “You’re allowed to do whatever the hell you want. So what if you want to blow off a little steam by having sex? Big whoop.”
Kon fell quiet after that, because well… he did suppose Jason had a point. Kind of. It still didn’t sit right with him to be doing this behind Tim’s back, but at the same time, it was just sex. Right? As long as Tim never found out about it, then he would never have to worry about him being hurt by it.
When the silence seemed to stretch on for longer than what was comfortable, Kon cleared his throat and made an attempt to lighten the air. “Since when did Red Hood start giving out good life advice?”
“Oh ha ha.” Jason rolled his eyes, but Kon noticed how he relaxed. “Maybe it’s because I’m tired of having to hear about your baggage about Tim every time we hook up.”
“Oh, like you don’t have baggage about Roy?”
Shit. Wait. Did he say that outloud?
Kon panicked for about three seconds, before Jason just scoffed. “Well, you don’t see me complaining about it to you, do you? I just bury my feelings like a normal person.”
Kon rolled his eyes. Yeah. Jason was definitely Tim’s brother alright.
He ended up dropping Jason off at his safehouse five minutes later and the two parted ways with a very brisk goodbye and a promise on Kon’s part to stop obsessing over what Tim would think.
‘Course, it was easier said than done, but maybe Jason had a point earlier. Kon could make his own decisions, and shouldn’t have to worry about what anyone else thought.
Besides, it wasn’t like he was planning on hooking up with Jason a fourth time.
