“Oh, hey!” he said. “Are you new? Mr. Kantor told you to sit here, right? Sorry man, my stuff’s everywhere. Here.” He began grabbing papers and piling them on top of his side of the table, clearing Henry’s side and chair.
Henry’s voice didn’t seem to work. Alex’s curls fell perfectly across his perfectly angled face, and his eyes were dark brown and perfect, and his lips- god, Henry had to stop thinking like that or he was going to grab Alex and kiss him right there in the middle of their chemistry class. What a way to make a first impression.
Alex, who had shoved his papers into a giant, messy black binder, gestured for Henry to sit down, which he did, setting his backpack down beside him. “I’m Alex,” Alex smiled at Henry, holding out his hand.
Henry stared for a second before realizing where he was. “H-Henry,” he said, shaking Alex’s hand.
