Summary
This story will have some "coming of age" themes in it. Will, Worf and Deanna have healed from the loss of the Enterprise-D and are looking forward to getting aboard their new ship, but things won't be the same as they were before - they have Dimitry now, and Alexander is getting older, with his own goals in life. How will they weave together all of the things that have holds on them - career, family, friends, love - and keep it all in balance?
The story starts at the beginning of the shakedown year for the Enterprise-E, one year before the events of First Contact. Title translates to "growth through difficulty", i.e. "growing pains".
